JESUS CAME TO DESTROY THE WORKS

OF THE DEVIL

This generation of people does not want

rituals or ceremony; we want Jesus. I want to
talk to you today about Jesus Came to
Destroy the Works of the Devil. The demons
knew it, you know. In the beginning of Mark 1,
when Jesus showed up in a synagogue, He
was preaching under the anointing of the Holy
Ghost. This demon was terrified by the power
of God. That is why I love the power and the
Presence of Godit never fails to terrify the
devil. The demon in this man cried out to the
Masterto the King of kings and the Lord of
lordsArt thou come to destroy us? (Mark
1:24). Those demons are very intelligent; they
know Jesus purpose. At the end of 1 John 3:8,
it says, For this purpose the Son of God
was manifested, that he might destroy the
works of the devil. That is what He is going to
do in this place today. Jesus came to destroy
the works of the devil.

Lets go to Luke 13:10. I am going to

take my time. I am going to teach and preach
today.
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues
on the sabbath.

The Scripture says, And he was

teaching Why was He teaching His people?
He was giving them information. He was
giving them revelation concerning Gods will.
My people are destroyed for lack of
knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Are you listening to
me? Jesus wants you informed. He wants you
to know. He wants you to have a clear
understanding of the will of God. 1 John 5:14-
15 says:

And this is the confidence that we have in him,

that, if we ask any thing according to his will,
he heareth us. And if we know that he hear us,
whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the
petitions that we desired of him.

That is why Jesus wants you to know

Gods will, because He wants you to know
what to ask for and what not to ask for.

And he was teaching in one of the synagogues

on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a
woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen
years, and was bowed together, and could in
no wise lift up herself. (Luke 13:10-11)
 This woman was bowed together
because of a demon spirit. It did not matter
how many doctors she went to. It did not
matter how many prescriptions she received or
how much medication she took because her
problem was not physical. I feel like the Holy
Ghost is going to open some peoples eyes
today. The Bible clearly says, [She] had a
spirit of infirmity There was a demon spirit
of infirmity inflicting sickness on this womans
body. Look at how long this demon was doing
this: eighteen years The devil is
merciless. You cannot even imagine
tormenting somebody every second of the day
for 18 years! That sounds like somebody that
is determined to destroy somebody else. This
demon was commanded by the devil, the
prince of demons, to destroy this woman.

The Bible says in the book of Ephesians

6:10: Finally, my brethren, be strong in the
Lord, and in the power of his might. This is a
command. He says, Be strong That is
not a choice, my friends. People say, Im so
weak! Tell someone, Be strong! It is a
commandment. Be strong. I am talking to
somebody. Be strong. You are not a weakling,
my friend. You are a child of the King. You are
created in His image and in His likeness (Gen.
1:26). You are not a weakling. That is why the
devil hates us so badly; he was not created in
Gods image. But you and I were. Are you
listening to me? It did not say, The angels
were created in His image and in His likeness.
God said, Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness (Gen. 1:26). Tell
somebody, I am something good. I am
fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm
139:14).

This woman was bowed together for 18

long years and she had a spirit of infirmity.
That is why I am quoting you from Eph. 6:10,
because God says, Finally, my brethren, be
strong in the Lord, and in the power of his
might. Not in your might; that is where we
mess up. In the power of his might. I feel
the Holy Ghost here. Jesus said in Acts 1:8,
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy
Ghost is come upon you Are you listening
to me?

In Luke 4:1-13, Jesus fasted for 40 days

and 40 nights. Then, verse 14 says, as a result
of Him fasting and seeking God, And Jesus
returned in the power of the Spirit It makes
a difference. That is why Gal. 5:16 says,
Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust
of the flesh. That is a command, too. If you
are walking in the Spirit, you are going
somewhere. I am headed somewhere. You
think this is it for me, but this is not it. God is
taking me somewhere. Tell someone, God is
taking me somewhere. I might look like I am
down right now. I might look like I am
struggling right now but, my friend, if you are
walking in the Spirit, just the way you walked
into that trouble, you are about to walk out of it
in the Name of Jesus!

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and

in the power of his might. Put on the whole
armour of God, that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle
not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph.
6:10-12)

This womans sickness was not

physical; it was spiritual. That is why I take my
time and rebuke every spirit of infirmity in many
of my crusades. What happens after I finish
rebuking them? What takes place after that?
People are healed all over the place. Some of
you think medication is going to take care of
your problem. We know medication helps us
and we know doctors are a blessing from God,
amen? But there are some things doctors do
not have the answer for. That is where Doctor
Jesus comes in. Are you catching this? That
is where the Great Physician comes in and
says, I dont care what the doctor tells you. I
dont care if he tells you he doesnt have any
prescription or medication that can cure your
problem. He says in Exodus 15:26: I am
the Lord that healeth thee.

Lets read on here. I love this. This

woman could not help herself or lift herself up.
She could not help herself; she was bound by
Satan. She could not help herself and no one
else was helping her, either. But I love what
verse 12 says: And when Jesus saw her, he
called her to him, and said unto her, Woman,
thou art loosed from thine infirmity. The verse
starts out, And when Jesus saw her I love
that. Jesus is looking at you. I have some
good news for somebody reading this book.
The Bible says we are the apple of His eye
(Psalm 17:8). Whenever Jesus focuses in on
you and He realizes that Satan is messing with
one of His kids, He is about to do something.
Tell someone, Jesus is looking at me. I am
not going to walk out of here the same.

Jesus has His eyes on you today and

He is looking at you with purpose. He has
something in store for you today. I want you to
see this. It says, And when Jesus saw her
He did something. He called her to him
Do you know why He called her to Him? He is
the Solution to every problem.

Do you know what the Holy Ghost wants

me to tell some of you? You have been trying
everybody, and now it is time to try Jesus. You
have been calling and some people were not
even home because it is time to try Jesus.
Anytime you cannot get a hold of people
when you are trying to catch up with your best
friend and you want him to give you a word of
encouragement, but you cannot find himthat
is a sign that Jesus is calling you to Himself.

And when Jesus saw her, he called her

to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art
loosed from thine infirmity. This is the Master
talking. He said, You are loosed from that
demon spirit that has been afflicting you for 18
years. He said, You are loosed, and the
Bible says, If the Son therefore shall make you
free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36). Tell
someone, You are loosed.

We have to be careful that, when God

speaks to us, we do not try to interpret what He
means in our little carnal minds. When Jesus
said to this woman, You are loosed from your
infirmity, her situation did not change. Tell
someone, If God said it, it is going to happen.
It might not look like anything changed, but if
God said it, something is going to happen. The
first thing He did for this woman was
encourage her. He said, You are loosed.
Some of you are loosed; you just do not realize
it yet. You are loosed. He spoke the word and
said, You are loosed from your infirmity.

The Bible is so practical. Do you know

what God has me doing to you right now? He
has me speaking the Word to you. He has me
encouraging you, lifting your faith to receive.
Why? He is going to do something next. This
is what I like about Jesus. The Bible says at
the end of Acts 1:1, when Luke wrote to this
man called Theophilus, he said, I am writing to
you of the things that Jesus began to teach
and do.

Are you listening to me? After Jesus

gets through talking, He does something about
it. God is about to fix your problem. He is
about to change your situation. Yes, I am right
here preaching right now and I am building
your faith and encouraging you. After this
message is through, though, the King of kings
and the Lord of lords is going to step down
where you are today and He is going to save,
He is going to heal, He is going to deliver, and
He is going to set free by the power of God.

I love Jesus. I love Him because Paul

says in 1 Cor. 4:20, For the kingdom of God is
not in word, but in power. Tell someone, The
Kingdom of God is at hand. The Kingdom of
God is in your midst today. Whenever the
Kingdom of God shows up, there is going to be
a display. There is going to be a demonstration
of the power of the living God. That is why
Jesus told His disciples, Go out and preach
and tell the people, The Kingdom of God is at
hand. The Kingdom of God is in this place
right now. I am not just talking; you will see in
a minute.

Lets read on. Verse 12 says, And

when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and
said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from
thine infirmity. The minute He called her, she
had a decision to make: Should I stay bowed
together like I am? Should I stay with this
sickness wracking my body? Should I stay in
the condition that I am in, or should I go to
Jesus and let Him fix it?

She was a smart woman because, even

though she was bowed together, she had
enough obedience in her to just crawl. I am
telling you, when she was crawling to Jesus,
that devil was nervous as a wreck. He knew
that, if she could just get to Jesus, something
was going to happen.

She went to Jesus and look at what He

did: And he laid his hands on her: and
immediately she was made straight, and
glorified God (Luke 13:13). The Master is
about to lay His hands on you. Trust me, when
Jesus touches you, it is impossible to be the
same. You cannot be the same after He lays
His hands on you. I do not care what it is you
have, and I do not care how long it is that you
have had it. She had this problem for 18
years.

She got dressed for church that

morning, bowed together. She put on her little
mascara. Come on now, American ladies!
She got her hair fixed up, she pressed her
dress, she shined her shoes, and she had
everything matching. Come on, you know
what I am talking about. She did not realize
that this was going to be her last day walking
into the house of the living God with that
problem that she had for 18 years. She did not
realize that this was her last time being bowed
together.
 The devil himself did not even realize
that this was going to be his last day holding
this woman in bondage. I love it when Jesus
surprises the devil! Jesus had a surprise party
planned for the devil that day! Are you
listening to me? This demon thought that he
was just going to ride this woman into church
and back home. Little did he know that King
Jesus was going to be in church that day. He
was the very One Who said in Luke 4:18, The
Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath
anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted

Was that demon shocked! Was he

surprised! I can imagine, when he realized that
Jesus was in there, he tried to tell the woman,
You ought not to go to church today. Why
dont you turn back and forget about this
Healing Crusade and this Miracle Crusade
stuff? Everybody got on your nerves today.
The good people turned into the devil on you
today. That is a sure sign that God is about to
blow your mind. The devil knows when God is
about to bless you. He acts his worst because
he knows this is his last time holding you in
bondage!
