BMS College of engineering admission

BMS College of Engineering established in 1946, holds the distinction of being the first private sector
engineering college in India. BMS College has been the most preferred destination for not only students
from Karnataka but candidates from other parts of the country as well, since the College has been
effectively practicing outcome based education.

For BMS College of engineering admission, the eligibility criteria of candidates is a pass I the 12th / high
school or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks which precede the entrance exams.
The student needs to have studies the following subjects Physics and Mathematics as compulsory
subjects, along with one of the following subjects - Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science,
Biology or Electronics and English as one of the languages.

Candidates satisfying the above criteria can apply for admission in BMS college of engineering through
3 channels listed as below:

a. KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) : Candidates need to appear for the KCET conducted by
the Government of Karnataka for admission of Karnataka domiciled candidates & wards of Jammu &
Kashmir migrants for government share of seats in BMS Engineering College. The admissions in this
category are done based solely on the merit f the candidate.
b. COMEDK (Consortium Of Medical, Engineering and Dental colleges of Karnataka) : Non Karnataka
students can appear for COMEDK which is conducted by the consortium of private colleges in the
state of Karnataka. Presently about 150 Engineering colleges, who make available around 20,000
seats, are affiliated to COMEDK and utilize its testing mechanism for effecting admission to UG
Program.
c. Management quota seats: For admission through management quota, the minimum percentage of
marks that students need to score to be eligible for admission under this quota is 60% .The
admission in BMS College of Engineering through management quota is processed under the aegis
of the BMS Educational Trust. The Council of Trustees decide the payment applicable for various
courses and the tution fee for the present academic year 2017-18 ranges from Rs 2,25,000 per
annum for Chemical engineering to Rs 5,75,000 p.a for Computer Science & engineering.

International candidates such as Foreign Nationals, PIOs & Children of Indian Workers (Gulf Countries)
under Supernumerary Quota seeking admissions will need to coordinate with the Chairperson &
Director of International Co-operation Division (BMSET)
