Give and TakeCare and Share at the NC ACDA Exhibit Booth for NCMEA
Last year, members of the NC ACDA Board suggested that we expand the services of our organization by adding an ex-
change venue to our exhibit booth at the 2003 North Carolina Music Educators Annual In-service Conference. This
year, we plan to provide these services at both the NCMEA conference and at our own NC ACDA State Convention.
See details that follow to learn how your participation will promote the success of this venture. Additional ideas are
welcomed.
Components
I. North Carolina Choral Composers: A list of North Carolina composers of choral music and lists of their works was
begun last fall. The compilation was made available at the NC ACDA exhibit booth and, after editing, will be placed
on the NC ACDA website. Single copies of some of these works were also available, for viewing, in a notebook. If
you know of composers whose names and works should be included, please send contact information to Reta R. Phifer
at phifer4music@mindspring.com.
II. Choral Concert Programs: If you have copies of some of your concert programs, bring them and make them avail-
able for other choral directors. Your repertoire selections and concert themes could provide ideas for your colleagues.
III. Single Copy Choral Octavo Give Away: Clean out your stash of single copies of choral octavos. Bring octavos
you dont plan to use and provide them for others. Your trash may be someone elses treasure. We will provide this
service only at the NCMEA In-Service Conference.
IV: Membership Forms: Never take ACDA membership for granted. Encourage your colleagues to join ACDA. Take
some forms to share with your friends.
