ACTION ITEM: RFP #CHR-2017-11 Secondary Schools Alternative Program

Grades 6-12

1. Superintendents Recommendation:

It is recommended that the Christina School Board approve RFP #CHR-2017-11

Secondary Schools Alternative Program Grades 6-12 to Camelot Education.

2. Brief Description of Services:

This is a comprehensive program of individualized educational and social services for

regular and special education qualifying students who have been recommended for
alternative program interventions by one of the constituent schools. The program will
provide students with academic, behavioral, and social skill interventions while being
creative in planning for and serving these students.

3. Background/Analysis:

The district normally solicits RFP every three years. District designed the evaluation
and selection process as follows:
Receive and evaluate proposals from interested vendors meeting the RFP
requirements.
Select minimum three top ranking proposals and ask the vendors to present
their plan in person and provide answers to the questions designed by the
review committee. The CSD team consisted of district administrators and
school principals.
The proposal review committee received five proposals and all were qualified. The
committee evaluated each proposal on five general evaluation criteria and selected the
top ranking company receiving the highest evaluation score (see attachment).

4. Fiscal Impact: Approximately $1,390,000 Restricted Local Funds.
