The Engineering and Technology of Subsea System Oil and Gas: Case
Studies and Assessment on Shallow Ultra- Deep Water (ASME B31.4 and
DNV OS F101)
The challenges are currently increasing as exploration and production of oil and gas moves from
onshore and shallow water to deep and ultra-deep water as well remote fields.
This short course will demonstrate an innovative of subsea technology to overcome the challenges of
exploration of oil and gas in deep & ultra-deep water. This lecturer includes presentations, case
studies and assessment all delivered by engineers working in industry, who are acknowledged as
experts in their field.
He received his Bachelor Degree in 1994, Indonesia and Master Degree in 1999, Australia. He started
his researches on structure analysis of flow in subsea pipelines, subsea pipeline corrosion due Carbon
Monoxide (CO), design and hydrodynamic analysis of AUV in Australia. In 2003, he was completed
his Doctor degree with special award as 2.5 Years Doctor Degree in Engineering with specification
in marine floating and transports which covers fluid dynamics and structure and optimization at
Aerospace and Marine System Engineering, Osaka, Japan.
He had joined Research and Development Institute, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Japan and had
involved in the Ice-Ship Going owned by Fortune Oil Company. The projects were awarded as Ship
of The Year 2002. The he moved to the EPC LNG RasLaffanunder Exxon Mobil. The projects
succeed to be completed and they were awarded as 28 MILLION man-hours worked without a lost
time incident projects.
He has been contracting staff at the Department of Aeronautics, Automotive, and Ocean Engineering,
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He has supervised bachelor,
master and doctor degree students. He has published more than 150 papers in International Journals
and Conferences and has produced several engineering intellectual products. He involved in project
VIV riser and VIM UTM Technip and project Vertical Riser VIV Tests UTM Technip.
In 2012, he received the Chartered Engineer (CEng) and the Chartered Marine Engineer (CMarEng)
from the Engineering Council UK through the Institute of Marine Engineering and Science and
Technology (IMarEST).
