1.07 Removal and refit of Bottom plugs

As soon as vessel is sitting on the blocks, bottom plugs to be removed to drain the ballast tanks off
the remaining water.

All bottom plugs to be checked. The plugs when removed should be marked on plan and handed
over to Master. Same plan to be referred to, when putting the plugs back.

Allow for removal of 14 plugs for ballast tanks.


All bottom plugs to be fitted back and vacuum tested for tightness. Same to be witnessed by Owners
representative.

3.00 Tailshaft, Stern Tube Seals, Rudder, Propeller


Tail Shaft Survey - with shaft withdrawal, incl. renewal of Fwd/Aft stern tube seals 1 length
As a separate item please quote for Tail Shaft withdrawal for inspection and
reinstalled in place including access work as follows but not limited to:

1. Drain out seal oil from aft. Seal box and the box to be disassembled, cleaned

and inspected, all seal rings and other parts with owners supplied parts.
2. Open up/Close immediate shaft bearing including disconnect/connect cooling
water pipes, clean for class survey upper and lower bearing shell, dressing up
of bearing surface.
3. Remove/Re-fit propeller according to makers instruction.
4. Remove/Re-fit intermediate shaft and couplings, including the tailshaft to be
drawn inboard.
5. Removal/Re-fit aft & fwd stern tube seals (Owner supply of spare parts),
transport to workshop/return onboard, for cleaning, inspection and assembling,
include transport and calibration of chrome liner.
6. Clean stern tube for survey, calibrate stern tube and tail shaft record and
report result to owners representative
7. Transport all necessary lifting tools in engine room erect as required and
remove on completion.
8. Maintain the stern tube well clean, dry and free from any debris at all times.
9. Dress up fwd and aft stern tube bearings as required.
10. Tailshaft wear down to be measured upon completion.
11. The leak test to be carried out under static head pressure for 12 hours before
un-docking.
12. Non destructive test for the taper section, including the end of keyway. (CCS
Approved company or personnel)
13. To include staging required for all work.

5.01 Rudder drain plugs to be removed in the presence of Owners representative. If no
water is found, the plug to be replaced and tightened with new gaskets.

If any water is found in the rudder, same to be drained. Air test for rudder to be
carried out at pressure of 0.25kg/cm2 and leakage to be identified and repaired to
the satisfaction of Class Surveyor.
5.02 Check and record upper and lower rudder pintle bearing clearances. Jumping
stopper clearance between rudder and rudder horn to be measured. Calibration
report to be submitted to Owners Representative
5.03 Withdrawal of rudder stock and rudder pintle for inspection work include

7.00 Shipside, Bottom & Sea-chests

Quote for overhauling & survey of the following sea valves. Listed sea suction,
over board discharge and air vents are to be opened up for cleaning, inspection,
overhauling and survey. Seats, discs are to be ground in, lapped and polished. All
moving parts are to be eased / greased, packing, joints and corroded nuts, bolts and
studs renewed (yard supply) and refitted in good working order. All sea chest and
overboard valves to be given two full coats of antifouling internally. Butterfly
valves rubber seat rings to be renewed if found necessary, new seat rings are
owners supply.
Quote is to include allowance for:
1. the removal of floor plates / pipes in way and afterwards replacement of same
2. repair of any pipe sections found pitted, by welding and grinded smoothen
afterwards, coated with 2 coats of epoxy / 1 coat of anti-fouling with owners
supplied paints
3. Any burnt areas to be mechanically wire brushed and given two stripe coats
with owners supplied paints
4. Any transportation from vessel to workshop and back that may be necessary
5. Removal of all debris associated with the overhaul of the above valves.

While the valves are open they should be covered or blanked so that no blasting
grit/dust from the hull maintenance programme can enter the engine room.

On refloating vessel all valves are to be proved tight, in presence of owner's


representative.
7.01 Sea-chests, Total -5No. with Gratings
The grids and inlet boxes to be cleaned by high PRESSURE WASHING and
additional mechanical cleaning for removal of all hard fouling and loose paint.
Boxes and grids to be painted AS OUTSIDE HULL with owner supplied paint.
Interiors of sea chests to be coated with 2 coats of anti-corrosive and 2 coats of anti-
fouling paint.
Price to include necessary staging access work and reclosing as original, with
proper securing of the grids bolts (SUS304).

8.00 Cathodic Protection System


8.01 Cathodic Protection of Hull
To remove the existing Zinc anodes which is protecting the shell & rudder &
propeller area, and refit new anodes in the stern area, rudder, sea chest. Total
number of anodes 65. weight of each anode 16.4 kg or 7.0kg.

9.02 Chain Lockers
Work to be done:
Open the access, 2 manholes, to the chain lockers. Provide necessary ventilating
equipment and temporary lighting.
Grating cleaned and removed.

Chain lockers to be thoroughly washed down with fresh water.


Remove bilge suction strainers and clean.
Blow out bilge suction piping with compressed air to prove suction and clear.
Bail out all the mud/ scale and water from both chain lockers.
FW wash again.
Chain lockers and grating to be inspected and damaged surface recoated with the
following paint.
Ceiling, wall and Floor Epoxy paint (high built) 200 micron
Allow for 7 sqm chipping, cleaning and t/u in each chain locker.
Allow for removal and back of 6 mtr bilge pipe, 65, in each chain locker, for
cleaning/clearing the pipe from mud.
Allow for a total of 1.5 m of mud removal and disposal, and refitting bottom
grating.
Include tower staging in each chain locker.

9.03 Range out both port and stbd chains and anchors on bottom of the dry dock, clean
with high pressure water jet min 300 bar. Entire chain to be inspected for any
defects, each shackle, adjoining kenter shackles, D-shackles and swivels. Mark
cables with seizing wire and paint each end of every shackle. Gauge chains and
submit record to owners representative. On completion, the chains are to be
stowing in chains in locker. (Need crane to lift up due to twisted inside chain locker
and/or cut kenter shackles)
