MSG Gas Seals (part 1)

Standard Labyrinth and Babbitt
Babbitted Gas Seals

Camerons centrifugal compressors provide 100% guaranteed oil-free

free compressed gas delivery. The
gas and oil seals on MSG units are separate components that prevent the contamination of the gas
stream by lubricating oil. Cameron offers a complete range of seal arrangements that help meet the
specific needs of a given application.
As site processes change, gas seal leakage may become more of a concern; some existing
compressor installations may be candidates for gas seal upgrades. Babbitted seal conversion may
be possible with pinion modification
odification and special seal inserts that will retrofit an existing airend. Seal
upgrades are typically performed during scheduled aireairend
d or rotor servicing or when pursuing
p an
aerodynamic enhancement.
