Q.2 A firm manufactures headache pills in two sizes A and B. Size A contains 2 grains of asprin, 5 grain of
bicarbonate and 1 grain of codeine. Size B contains 1 grain of asprin, 8 grain of bicarbonate and 6 grain of
codeine. It is found by users that it reqires at least 12 grain of asprin ,74 grains of bicarbonate and 24 grain of
codeine for providing immediate effect. It is required to determine the least of number of pills a patient should
take to get immediate relief. Formulate the problem as standard LPP.

Q.3 A furniture manufacturing company wishes to make two product 'chairs' and 'tables' from available
resources which consist of 400 board feet of mahogany timber and 450 man-hours.It is known that a chair
requires 5 board feet and 10 man-hours yielding profit of Rs. 45. Each table requires 20 board feet and 15 man-
hours and has a profit of Rs. 80. The objective of the company is to maximize profit. Slove the problem
