Offering compatibility with Autodesks AutoCAD 2013 release as well as the inclusion of German
regulations and a fleet of other updates and improvements, version 1.10 is the latest update of
Simtra's CAD-based solution for obstacle clearance compliance.

Notable improvements to the runway definition component of the software include the ability to
define different approach scenarios for each runway end. Offering a huge increase in flexibility, this
definition can be completed with just a few clicks. Once the runway and Obstacle Limitation Surfaces
(OLS) have been created, obstacle coordinate data can be imported with an updated import tool
which supports .txt, .csv and .asc files.

This same import dialog box can also be found in the upgraded Terrain/Heightfield command. Once
data is imported, users can now undertake an analysis using a number of methods, including
creating an Analysis Area to define a specific area of interest. This cuts down on potential
software/computer performance problems that may arise as a result of working with complex and
large datasets.

In order to view the longitudinal profile of an Obstacle Surface Planner model in more detail, it is
now possible to create a Longitudinal Section. This tool allows users to exaggerate the data through
the Z axis so it is possible to analyze a specific section of the model using a more usable scale.

Obstacle Surface Planner users with a Software Maintenance Agreement valid as at 31st March 2012
are invited to download version 1.10 from the Simtra Support website. Detailed release notes are
included.
