1. Intended use
For in vitro diagnostic use.
The RIDAQUICK Malaria Control is intended for use in the corres-
ponding RIDAQUICK Malaria rapid test (N7006/N7007).
2. Explanation
The RIDA QUICK Malaria Control is available as a separate accessory for
the RIDAQUICK Malaria rapid test. It contains recombinant HRP2 protein
(reactive at T1-band) and plasmodial-specific LDH protein (reactive at T2
band. Prior to use, the positive control as well as the respective test-
specific reagents (reagents, test cassettes) must be left to stand until they
reach room temperature (20-25C). The test cassettes should be removed
from their packages only briefly before they are required for use. Take
care to avoid direct exposure to sunlight while performing the test.
3. Test principle
The RIDAQUICK Malaria Control is ready to use and reacts specifically at
both bands, marked with T1 and T2 on test cassette and yields the
specifically coloured reaction bands (control- and test bands) after the end
of the reaction as described in point 11.
4. Material provided
1 x vial RIDAQUICK Malaria Control (0.12 ml). Ca. 24 control reactions
can be carried out.
5. Material required but not provided
Corresponding RIDAQUICK Malaria Kit (N7006 or N7007).
6. Precautions
The RIDAQUICK Malaria Control contains recombinant plasmodial-
specific antigens. This notwithstanding, the product should be treated as
potentially infectious material.

7. Reagents and storage conditions
The RIDAQUICK Malaria Control must be stored at 2-8 C and can be
used up to the expiry date printed on the vial. We do not guarantee for the
product or results once the stated shelf-life has expired.
8. Indications of instability or reagent deterioration
Unspecifically coloured T1 or T2-band or eventually additional appearing
bands on the test membrane of the cassette indicate that the reagents
may have degraded.
9. Preparing the positive control
The RIDAQUICK Malaria Control is ready to use. It must be handled
analogously to blood sample in the RIDAQUICK Malaria test cassette.
10. Test procedure
Using one of the micropipettes (MicrosafeTubes), provided with the test
kits (N7006 or N7007) 5 l of RIDAQUICK Malaria Control are with-
drawed capillary by simply dipping and without pressing the pipette bulb
and then control are added in the funnel of the cassette which is marked
by Blood. The pipette tip must touch the membrane surface in order to
secure the transfer of 5 l of the Malaria control reliably. After then 4 drops
of reagent provided by one of the RIDAQUICK Malaria testkits (N7006 or
N7007) in the funnel which is marked by Reagent. The valuable result
can be read after 30 minutes.
11. Interpretation of results
Beside the control line C also the test line T1 and T2 must be visible
for valid result. If only control line C appears, it means that positive
control is declined. If beside the control line C only one of both testlines
is visible, it may indicate that one of both recombinant proteins (HRP2 or
pLDH) is deteriorated because of instability.
