close interaction with the brethren and churches there with whom we work; how I
miss studying together and praying together; how I miss family times with him, and
the strength of his arms around me, my head on his shoulder; how I miss the over-

arching comfort of having him as the head of the house, thankful that God gave

that authority and responsibility to husbands! And through the tears of loneliness, I
circle back around to the joy that the work J.C. began continues, and that God has
supplied others to move it forward, and that there is still work for me to do while he
is over there somewhere with the God who was always his focus in life. Please
pray for me, especially during these times of tears.
 Volume 92 of The Voice of Truth International is with the printer; Vol. 91 should be delivered to the Winona
office by the first week of May and will go into the mail after our Missionary Retreat. The 2017 issue of Global
Harvest is also with the printer and will be an encouraging update to readers concerning the churchs mission out-
reach in the world. If you dont get this magazine we urge you to send your $5.00 for this issue to help with the cost of
printing and shipping so that more Christians can know what is being done and what needs to be done. We had hoped
to print it at least twice a year, but there is neither the time for me to do the preparatory work for the printing, nor
the money to pay for two issues, so we have to be content with bringing this treasure to you only once annually.
Afghani Christian Brother
I had written on Facebook about a brother in Afghanistan who was converted five years ago through Katheryn
Haddad and World English Lessons. He has recently been under threat from government spies who claim they
know all about him and his efforts to convert people to Christianity. His communication to Katheryn the night he
got the first call was, I will be in heaven with my Lord very soon. This night at 7 p.m. I received a warning
call from government spies. He told me, We know you are preaching and spreading Christianity in our
country. You will pay heavy atonement.
For some background to you, Katheryn has shared this information: John Mark (not his real name)
was converted through World English Institute five years ago. Even though Christianity is illegal in Afghan-
istan, he urged over forty people to study with WEI. Someone with the Taliban cornered him in an alley and
demanded $50,000 or prison for spreading Christianity. He and his family escaped to India, but he could not
find work there. They returned to a different city in Afghanistan and remain free, probably because he pays
them a weekly bribe. Since then he has baptized his two older sons, and two other couples who were also
WEI students. They worship in secret and whisper their songs so they do not get caught.
A few months ago, he decided to remain silent no longer and began teaching the gospel again. He
convinced over fifty friends and relatives to become Christians. They have not done so yet because
they fear for their lives. He keeps encouraging them. With last Thursdays threatening phone, John Mark
sent his wife and five children to hide with relatives in another province. On Friday, he decided to go to
the mountains to hide. Word was spread throughout the brotherhood with disguised messages through
church of Christ Facebook groups. Hundreds of people have replied that they are in constant prayer.
Friday night John Mark decided not to flee to the mountains after all. He is hiding at a friends house,
but is still in his city. He thinks that, since it was a government agent who called him, they may take him
to court before executing him, just to have some semblance of legality.
I ask your continued prayers for this brother, his
family, and for the others he has converted. If you are
keeping up with the news you realize that believers in
Christ are being heavily persecuted in numerous Islamic-
controlled countries. The picture at the right shows
believers being crucified by ISIS militants because they
refused to deny their faith. I pray we will never see such
horror in the U.S., but if it comes to us, I pray we will be
strong enough to die for Christ rather than to deny Him.
The Threat of Hinduism in India
and Islam in the Middle East
As I have warned in the past, the Hindu government
currently in control of India is tightening up on things.
We have heard of several being denied entrance into the country even though they had current visas, and during
Jerrys spring trip he was checked twice at one location. Also the checks that were mailed April 3 have not yet
cleared the government office in New Delhi. If they decide to cancel visas, and to block bank transfers, and stop
honoring checks written for the on-going work, a terrible blow would fall on everything we do there. Brother
Philemon sent a copy of a leaflet put out by the RSS (the militant arm of the BJP political part, currently hold-
ing the Prime Ministership and much of Parliament in the central government, and much of the state government
 control.) which boldly says that India is a Hindu country, and that
Christianity will be erased by 2021. This is in direct opposition
to its founding constitution which guarantees freedom of religion
throughout the country. Of course, Christianity is easy to attack
because believers in Christ number less than 3% of the population
and they are known to be peaceful people.
On the other hand, Muslims claim 15% of the population in
India and they will murder in the streets if they see opposition to
their religion. We can see that, throughout the Middle East and Af-
rica, Islam is fighting to establish a Caliphate, believing that the
time has come for the prophecy to be fulfilled that they will rule
the world through the revealing of the twelfth Imam. Iran and
Turkey are the two prominent warriors on the stage. Turkey is 75%
Suni Muslim while Iran is almost 90% Shia. Both Turkey and Iran
claim almost 80 million people. The interesting thing is that, since
the death of Mohammed, these two competing denominations
of Islam Sunis (who appointed Mohammeds companion as
his successor, since none of his sons lived to adulthood) and Shias
(who believed that the leadership of the religion must go to blood relatives of Mohammed) have not only
warred with the world but have killed each other in their determination to be the dominant form of the religion.

Brother Arjunans Requests for Printing Literature
Thanks for your continual association with us. We would like to reprint the Simple Sermons that Teach writ-
ten by brother Jerry. We are publishing this as articles in our magazine The Word of Christ every month. As we
had informed Sister Betty we want to print Can Man Find the Way to God? as a book. This has been translated
and published in our Tamil magazine regularly. We would like to print some tracts of World Evangelism publica-
tions also. There is a great need for printed materials in response to our radio and television programs.
Brother Rajanayagam Reports
Sister, this is to let you know about the two baptisms we had on 5th of this
month in Chennimalai. I worshipped with them and spoke for them. Same eve-
ning we had a meeting in a village and it was attended by around 60. Rachel and I
are going to East coast area to work with several preachers of 18,19 of this month.
Please pray for this. We have published 28th volume of TVOTI and working on
29 the. We receive good reports from the readers. Thank God for this.
Brother Kingsly Reports
Dear brothers and sisters, kindly pray for Antony as he and another
brother working with us met with an accident when riding a two wheeler. By
the grace of God there was no big injury, but they both fell from a 10 feet
small bridge and, as the motor cycle fell on Antony, his right hand got a minor
fracture. He must take a week rest. His head was protected against a big stone
and causality was avoided because he wore helmet but the motor cycle got One of the baptisms reported by

completely broken. The other brother got minor injuries. Please pray for our
safety on roads, as the roads are mostly filled with drivers who dont want to respect the law.
 The Gospel is our mission. The world is our home.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you
always, even to the end of the age. Amen.
I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you (John 14:18).

Brother Sunny Reports

The February issue of The Bible Teacher is ready now, and it is issue no.10 of volume no. 47. We start
printing a new volume every May of the year, so in May 2017 we will begin printing Volume number 48!
Forty-eight years of sending out the Gospel every month to those who have requested the magazine! I have
already sent to the printing press the materials for the next two issues, March - April .
On 23rd March my brother, Nelson, suffered a heart attack at his house and was taken to the hospital where
they found one of his arteries was almost 100% blocked. He is doing good now. The doctors sent him home this
evening. He is feeling good. A stent was put after cleaning the artery. This is a normal procedure here now.
In Closing
These past few days I have been attending a Gospel meeting in Greenwood, a neighboring city. Andy
Miller has had such excellent lessons that I have asked for CDs to share with the brethren with whom we work
overseas. The lesson last night was on the home parental responsibilities in rearing children, and husband/
wife relationships in the Lord. Not only is this message sorely needed here in the U.S. but because of the tre-
mendous and often negative influence of our western media on the rest of the world, it is needed everywhere.
By the time you receive this, we will have had the India Mission Conference in Hamilton, AL, May 2-4
and our Missionary Retreat in Florence, AL, May 4-6. Within those dates I hope to visit congregations in the
area that support our work. During the first week of July we plan our annual team meeting here in Winona.
The weeks ahead are filled with good work, and I ask your prayers for all of us.

Would some dedicated, healthy, retired couple please make the prayerful decision to move to Wi-
nona to help us??? We have housing in which you can live, and we promise to keep you so busy you will
know that you didnt really retire! Its great to spend all day every day in the Lords work!
