2017 Fall Service Proposal - Effective May 20th, 2017

___________________________________________________________________________
Whats Changing in September?______________________________
A New Route - 319 Direct
Route 319 Direct will provide services along Center Street with limited stops to increase
schedule accuracy. Route 319 is not an express route, as it is limited. AC Transit predicts that
funding for this part of the proposal will make this route available to run every 20 minutes by
each stop along the route.

A Small Fare Increase

Go Marshalltown understands that riding the bus can sometimes be the most cost
effective way to receive transportation. In keeping with that understanding, our fare has only
increased by $0.10. This small increase will help AC Transit and Go Marshalltown increase the
amount of incredible services we make available to the community.

Current Fare: $1.20 New Proposed Fare: $1.30

Employee Pay Rate Increase

Effective September 17, 2017, all Go Marshalltown bus operators will have a starting pay
of $21.50 per hour. This increase will affect wages already above the current start pay as well.
Employees who are making less than $21.50 but
more than $20.50 will see an increase in pay in
coordination with the already proposed amount.

Changes to the Reasonable Modification Policy

The Reasonable Modification Policy went into effect for AC Transit in 2001. Since then,
the transit agency has done its best to accommodate for those with disabilities and physical
challenges. With our new Reasonable Modification Policy, transit riders can now suggest
accessibility features that arent required by the ADA. Go Marshalltown will take all legitimate
requests into consideration at city meetings, and discuss whether changes should take effect.

Updates on the Go Marshalltown App

Go Marshalltown has already released an official version of the app. From the app,
passengers can receive real-time arrival bus predictions from NextBus, plan trips, see fare
information, and even reload their Clipper passes in seconds. With the new update, passengers
will be able to schedule rides outside of operational hours, set reminders as to when their bus
will arrive, and have easier access to submitting reasonable modification requests.
