Abstract: T he w ay of humans, w het her individual or social, t o perceive t he world and pass on know - l
edge has underg one a process from oralit y t o lit eracy. Beginning f rom the end of t he last century , humans,
due to technologizat ion, have advanced onto t he age of electronic cult ure, or hypertext culture. T he paper
makes a contrast of charact eristics bet ween orality based on audibilit y and literacy based on sight , and f ur-
t her points out t echnolog izat ion act ually results from touch, w hich is one of t he basis of t he format ion of hy-
pertext cult ure.
