Shakespeare's much loved comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
Girl meets boy... Girl falls in love with boy.... Girl loses boy when
mischievous fairies intervene and make the boy fall for another girl. Girl
wins boy back with the help of a little more fairy magic!
This fun adaptation will be full of laughs, dancing and musical surprises
making it the perfect chance to introduce even the youngest child to
Shakespeare!
Performances are FREE and will be held nightly at 7:00 pm on Thursday
July 27th thru Sunday July 30th and Thursday August 3rd thru Sunday
August 6th in the Reed Room. Please be sure to invite your friends to
join you!
Picnic Dinner Theatre Information
"A Midsummer Night's Picnic" will be held on Sat. Aug. 5th at 5:45 in
the Fellowship Hall. Tickets for the Picnic are $7.00 for adults & $5.00
for the children's meal (12 yrs and under). The menu includes Fried
Chicken*, Macaroni Salad, Baked Beans, Lemonade, Dessert. Children
may choose the child's fried chicken leg dinner or a hot dog & chips.
*The Fried Chicken is from Wayside Deli.
How To Reserve Tickets
Tickets for the shows and picnic dinner theatre will be available in the
Reed Room each Sunday starting July 9th after the 9:00 and the 11:00
service. You can also get tickets online at blackboxplayers.com or by

Volunteer Opportunities
We still need volunteers to help during rehearsals, costume sewing,
greeters for each show, cooks for the picnic and much more. If you

be an encouraging, friendly group of people. While we dont
make any claims to be perfect, at our church we come together
to help make the kingdom of God a reality on earth by loving
God and loving our neighbor.
For Our Youngest Friends
A professionally staffed nursery is available for children birth
through age three during all services and Sunday School on the
lower level. An usher will be happy to direct you. Additionally,
a Parent Room is available in the Parlor adjacent to the
Sanctuary, for viewing and hearing all services. Please ask an
usher to show you the way. All restrooms are equipped with
changing tables.

today at 3pm in the Sanctuary. Please join us as we remember Al with joy.
Sunday School Update
Children's Sunday School (through 5th grade) is no longer meeting for
the summer. Youth Sunday School (6th-12th grade) will continue to
meet over the summer in the Youth Room from 10:05-10:50.
Please keep your car and valuables secure!
Aldersgate was recently advised that there has been a rash of car break-
ins in our area, including in church parking lots. Please do not leave any
valuables in your car and consider also locking your car when not in use.
School Supply Drive
Once again, AUMC will be providing school supplies for 150 students
(more if possible) at Greer Elementary School. Shopping lists are
available in the Welcome Center and in the Upper Narthex on the desk.
Monetary donations will also be accepted to purchase bulk supplies of
paper towels, tissues, ear buds, cleaning wipes and other items that we
may not receive during the collection period. Please make your check
payable to AUMC with SCHOOL SUPPLIES on the memo line. We have
volunteers ready to do the shopping for you! Donations of supplies can
be left in the collection boxes located in the Welcome Center and in the
Upper Level Narthex. Packing and delivering of the school supplies will
be during the month of August. An announcement will be in the bulletin

Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry Drive
Did you know? In our community, there is a 17.9% food insecurity rate.*
That means that a number of our neighbors in Charlottesville and
Albemarle County are not sure if there will be food on their kids plates
tonight. In July, Aldersgate UMC will support the Loaves and Fishes
Food Pantry which is an outreach of Charlottesville First UMC. The
pantry provides groceries once per month to low-income families
helping to stretch their food budgets. If you would like to support the
pantry, please bring any donations of non-perishable items to the
church lobby in the month of July and place them in the marked bins.
You may make a monetary donation, payable to Aldersgate Church with
Loaves & Fishes marked in the memo, and place it in the collection
plate. The donations will be delivered directly to the food pantry.
Suggested donations in standard sizes (e.g., 14.5 oz. cans) are:
Peanut butter, Canned vegetables, beans, and fruit, Oatmeal, Non-
sweetened cereals, Vegetable oil, Flour, Dry or shelf-stable milk
Please help a family struggling financially get back on their feet.

Summer Study: The Parables of Jesus
Begins This Week
You are invited to be a part of the fellowship and study of God's word
this summer at Aldersgate Church as we study the parables of Jesus.
This study is designed for you to participate in as many sessions as your
schedule will allow, but because each session is not dependent upon
another, missing one or more sessions will NOT be an issue. Come every
session or just a few! Sessions will be:
Tuesday, 10:00am - 11:15am and Thursday, 7:00pm - 8:15pm
Week of July 17th Luke 10:25-42 The Good Samaritan
Week of July 24th Matthew 20:1-16 Workers in the Vineyard
Additional scriptures will be announced at a later date.
Chancel Choir Summer Schedule
The next Sundays the choir will sing are: July 23, August 6, August 20.
There will be no rehearsals on Wednesday evenings. If you'd like to sing
with the choir this summer, please, come at 10:30am Sunday mornings to
the Choir Room. We have an optional short rehearsal at 10:15am for those
who may need help with learning their parts. All musical groups, including
the choir, will resume regular singing and rehearsals after Labor Day.
