I am very happy to write this letter of recommendation for Garrett Gallagher. Garrett
volunteered in my second grade classroom for over 80 hours during the past two years. He
was in my classroom for sixty hours during the spring semester of 2015 and then again in
class for twenty hours the fall of 2015.

During his time in my classroom, he worked with students one-on-one, in small groups, and
taught lessons to the whole class. He gained experience in teaching reading, math, and
science. Garrett prepared materials, graded papers, designed bulletin boards, ran centers,
edited with students, retaught concepts with students who needed reinforcements, and
taught whole class lessons.

Garrett was always organized, prepared with his materials, creative and flexible in his
teaching and planning. With the students, Garrett was very engaging, fair and in control of
the class. The students really enjoyed working with Mr. G and looked forward to his visits!

I have known Garrett since he was a child, in my own 2nd grade class as his teacher, and
am close friends with his family. Since I have known Garrett, he has always been very
respectful, polite, a leader, and hard worker. The teaching profession is fortunate to gain
Garrett as a future educator.

It would be a great opportunity for a school or district to employ Garrett Gallagher as a

teacher or a substitute.
