AeroShell Hydraulic Fluids

AeroShell Fluid 3 - a general purpose mineral lubricating oil recommended for

general lubrication of aircraft parts that require a light oil with good low temperature
characteristics and a low freezing point.

AeroShell Fluids 4 and 41 - mineral hydraulic fluids, the latter has superior
cleanliness characteristics and is the more widely used grade.

AeroShell Fluid 71 - a preservative mineral hydraulic fluid for use in hydraulic

systems and components that are in storage as well as hydraulic system rigs.

AeroShell Fluid 31 - a synthetic hydrocarbon fire resistant hydraulic fluid. This type
is increasingly replacing mineral hydraulic fluids.

AeroShell Fluid 51 - a low temperature synthetic hydrocarbon fire resistant

hydraulic fluid.

AeroShell Fluid 61 - a preservative synthetic hydrocarbon fire resistant hydraulic

fluid

AeroShell Shock Strut Fluid and Landing Gear Fluid are current technology
hydraulic fluids for landing gear shock struts of some aircraft.

For some types of aircraft proprietary non-inflammable fluids (phosphate ester type)
of non-petroleum origin are required. Shell Companies may be able to supply Skydrol
500B-4 and LD-4 phosphate ester fluids against known demand.

MIL-H-5606A vs. MIL-H-5606G - Hydraulic Oil

Product Description
Mobil Aero HFA is formulated for aircraft systems where use of hydrocarbon-based
hydraulic fluids is required. It is a low viscosity, high VI (viscosity index) fluid with
excellent low temperature properties, good anti-wear performance, and good
chemical stability. Mobil Aero HFA is composed of mineral base oil stock and contains
shear-stable VI improvers.

requirements of commercial and military aircraft applications. This high quality

formulation has a long history of excellent performance and provide long, trouble-
free service over a wide range of operating conditions. Product features and potential
benefits include:

Features
Advantages and Potential Benefits
High Viscosity Index (VI) Allows equipment operation over a wide range of
temperatures
Excellent low temperature properties Provides high performance operation in low
ambient conditions
Good chemical and oxidation stability Resists the formation of acidic constituents,
varnishes, and deposits

Applications
Mobil Aero HFA is a premium quality fluid that meets the requirements of the U.S.
Military specification MIL-H-5606A (now obsolete). It has a very high VI and is
suitable for use at temperatures down to -54C (-65F). While this quality fluid is no
longer used by the U.S. Military, it is still used in some older, small private, and
commercial aircraft. It is also used in industrial and commercial equipment requiring
good fluidity at very low temperatures, where it provides long, trouble-free service
over a wide range of operating conditions.

Precautions
MOBIL AERO HFA is manufactured from high quality petroleum base stocks, carefully
blended with selected additives. As with all petroleum products, good personal
hygiene and careful handling should always be practiced. Avoid prolonged contact to
skin, splashing into the eyes, ingestion or vapour inhalation. Please refer to our
Imperial Oil Material Safety Data Sheet for further information.

Item# R756
Regular price: $90.00
Sale price: $85.00
ROYCO 756 is a red-dyed, mineral oil based hydraulic fluid developed for the severe
duty demands of aerospace and industrial service. ROYCO 756 contains additives
which provide excellent low temperature fluidity as well as exceptional antiwear,
oxidation - corrosion inhibition, and shear stability. In addition, metal deactivators
and foam inhibitors are provided in this high viscosity index fluid to enhance
performance in many general purpose hydraulic applications.

USES: ROYCO 756 is designed for use in aircraft, missiles, auto pilots, shock
absorbers, cherry pickers, boom trucks, robotics, and auto wreckers requiring all -
weather performance. ROYCO 756 is particularly recommended for use in systems
where a "super clean" fluid can contribute to improved component life and reliability.
ROYCO 756 can be used in unpressurized systems operating at temperature ranges
from -54 to 90oC (-65 to 195oF) and in pressurized systems from -54 to 135oC (-65
3

to 275oF) at pressures up to 3000 p.s.i.
