Biological Technician
Seabird technician for USFWS-AMNWR on St. Paul Island, Pribilof Islands Group
Monitored seabird population for productivity, survival, diet collection, and population size
Duties involved use of binoculars and spotting scope to determine productivity and
chronology; re-sight banded kittiwakes, murres and cormorants; band kittiwakes, murres
and cormorants with the use of noose poles and banding kits; collect diet samples from
least auklets with use of mist nests; survey the entire island by boat and foot to estimate
population size of various seabird species
Species monitored included black legged and red legged kittiwakes, common and thick-
billed murres, northern fulmars, red-faced cormorants, and least auklets
Independent research was done in conjunction with this work, researching and recording a
comprehensive behavior profile of the Red-Faced Cormorant.

Field work and research in the Galapagos Islands monitoring Giant Tortoises and performing
habitat restoration in conjunction with Ecology Projects International
