nameDimaYakovlev)atoddleradoptedbyaVirginiafamily,lefttodieinacaronaswelteringsummerday.
UnofficiallyinconjunctionwithabarrageofsanctionsRussiapassedthelawinretaliationforthe2012US
MagnitskyAct,whichimposedsanctionsonRussiaandonindividualsblamedforthedeathoflawyercalled
SergeiMagnitsky.

HRAGIFisworkingonanalyzinglegalandlegislativeoptionstohelpoverturnthisadoptionban.Wewouldliketo
presentourfindingstothemembersofUSCongress,AdministrationandUSpublicandisplanningtobriefthem
onpossiblewaysofresolutionofthisstalemateonadoptions.
