Water system facilities for the complete power plant are provided under the following
categories.
The water from Montage Jacquot Sewage Treatment Plant shall be used for Water
treatment plant, Firefighting system, Auxiliary Cooling tower Make-up, and other
miscellaneous utilities uses.
Fire water requirement shall be fulfilled from Filtered water storage tank. with appropriate
sets of Fire pumps. Separate Fire water reservoir shall not be considered and we will
create dead storage in Filtered water storage tank to meet out the norms of applicable
standards of Fire protection system.
Two (2) nos. of raw water centrifugal type booster pumps (1W+1S) of capacity 250 m3/hr
shall be provided in order to pump treated sewage water from Montage Jacquot Sewage
Treatment Plant to water treatment plant.
CHLORINATION
The water is dosed with hypochlorite for the disinfection purpose
ACF:
ACF is used for removal of taste, odour, colour and Chlorine. The most common
application is removal of undesirable taste & odour present in chlorinated water supplies.
The end product is clean water with no objectionable taste.
SMBS DOSING
The water is dosed with Sodium Meta Bi Sulphite for the reduction of free chlorine.
ANTISCALANT DOSING
The water is dosed with Anticsalant to prevent the RO membranes from scaling.
ACID DOSING
The water is dosed with acid for pH correction.
CARTRIDGE FILTER
The chemically conditioned water is then feed to micron cartridge filter having cartridges of
5 micron nominal rating. Purpose of this cartridge filter is to basically remove very fine
particles. This will also work as a safe guard of SDI.
The water from cartridge filter will then be passed to RO unit by means of high-pressure
pump to get the RO product water.
Anticsalant is added prior to the guard filter to increase the solubility threshold limitation of
sparingly soluble salts such as CaCO3, BaSO4 and CaF Bisulfite pH meter controls acid
dosing.
A sample valve is provided after anticsalant addition for manual sampling to check the
performance of anticsalant dosing.
The chemically conditioned raw water will then passes through 5-micron cartridge guard
filter to ensure removal of suspended solids.
Pressure switches are provided at the common header of inlet & outlet of cartridge filters.
The Low pressure are provided at RO high pressure feed pump suction which provides
protection for dry running of pump and also protect the membranes from high pressure
exposure.
The conductivity indicating is provided on the RO permeate line monitors the product
water quality. The auto dump valve is provided to drain the product water if the
conductivity at RO outlet is not within the set limits.
The operation of cleaning has to be initiated manually for each bank; the cleaning
solution preparation operation is totally manual.
A level Switch is provided on the cleaning tank. Based on the feedback from the level
Switch, there would be indication that cleaning tank to be filled with RO permeates water.
The 10-micron cartridge type guard filter is provided after the cleaning pump to prevent
passage of suspended solids removed during the CIP cycle back onto the RO
membranes.
The RO Cleaning Pump will flow cleaning solution through each stage of an RO train. The
overall rate is based on the number of RO vessels in a train and the step of the cleaning
process and is controlled by manually at pump delivery.

Laminar flow conditions are essential for the effective gravity separation of the water and
suspended continents.
In the course of passing from pack inlet to pack outlet, the sludge moves towards the bottom
of the corrugations and slides down the incline of the lamella. From there the sludge is
collected in a hopper to be discharged intermittently through a blow off value.
In the corrugation bottom, a high sludge concentration is established. This is the ideal
condition for particle agglomeration to take place. (agglomeration is the formation of large
and relatively heavy particles from small and relatively light particles.)
Moreover, sludge move in separate directions, to the flow of the water, the danger of
particle re-entertainment has been completely eliminated in the design of the cross flow
separator (when re-entertainment occurs, particles once separated from the mother liquid
are put back into suspension.
Supports with so-called place "spacers" hold the Tilted lamellas in place providing strength
and liquidity to the pack structure. Treated water coming after CPI will collect to sump and
pumped to Ash Water Sump, and Oil, which is separated from CPI, shall be collected in Slop
Oil Tank, While Oily sludge, which is generated from bottom of CPI, shall be collected in
sump and pumped to Collection Sump.
Lamella settler
All liquid effluent after required treatment shall be led to the effluent sump and pump to the
Lamella settler. Coagulant and poly solution shall be added to the water for the effective
separation. The treated water shall be stored in a clear water reservoir. The sludge s
generated from the settler shall be collected in the sump and treated effluent will routed to CMB
basin
Central Monitoring Basin
Effluent From t Lamella settler shall be collected in CMB which acts as an equalization
basin after CMB effluent shall pump to gardening, Dust suppression in CHP and further
uses.
(ii) SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM
Sewage generated in different area will be treated through septic tanks and up-flow filters
located in individual areas. The treated water is used for horticulture in locations where large
quantity of sewage is anticipated. The no of persons considered as 150. The inlet quality of
water considered BOD as @250 mg/l and TSS as @260 mg/l, and the outlet parameters
shall be restricted to BOD=20 mg/l and TSS=20 mg/l
