Systemic Functional Linguistics in China
Abstract: The present article investigates how
systemic functional linguistics was introduced and
has been developed in China. It first gives a short
and general survey of the development of systemic
functional linguistics in China, then gives the reasons
for its rapid development and shows the existing
problems in its research in China, and finally it shows
its prospect of development.
Key Words: systemic functional linguistics; China;

English majors offered by English Department of
Nanjing University, which aim at building a learning
community where postgraduate students and
supervisors work together as a team to improve the
overall quality of the programs. The practices have
been characterized by the following features: (1)
fostering the students' team working skills along with
the development of their research abilities;(2) having
teachers' team teaching as well as students' group
