PERSPECTIVE ILLUSTRATION

Perspective Illustration refers to an approximate graphic representation, on a flat surface (such as

paper), of an image as it is seen by the eye. Perspective drawing is thus an accurate 3D depiction
of a plan view laid out on paper. In the field of structural civil engineering perspective drawing
plays a great role in portrayal of a structure in different views. In this event a scenario will be
provided for the participants. This scenario will provide land profile data and the clients
requirements. According to the scenario the participants have to draw a perspective design of the
structure, simplified plan view and a brief description about the illustration. After the contest, an
exhibition of the illustrations will take place. For the first time in the history of engineering in
Bangladesh, CENNOVATION is going to launch a perspective drawing competition, where
participants will be able to demonstrate their visual creativity and engineering knowledge.

Event Details

Only under Graduate Students from any university can participate in this competition
Each team has to draw one perspective drawing, two plan view and a description about
the design
Participants from any teaching center or professional designer are prohibited from
participating in this competition
Participants can enroll themselves as Individual or a Group consisting of maximum
2 (two) members
Drawing board or other drawing instruments will not be provided. Participants have to
bring their own accessories if needed
Free hand drawing and use of color is appreciated

Three standard A3 and one A4 size paper will be provide per team to draw 3 drawing
and write a description
Exam period is 2 hours
Question Example:

Mr. Hafiz Ahmed possesses a land in Uttara, Sector 14. He wants to launch an Arabic-cuisine
based restaurant on the proposed site. The restaurant should consists of a two-storied building, a
parking lot, a lawn and an authentic cascade fountain with a little touch of landscape architecture.
The client prefers glass and wooden exterior. The facility should occupy at least 200 guest. The
detailed information is given below. Propose a suitable design for this restaurant.

Draw
01. Two/three point perspective drawing of your design
02. Draw two simplified floor plan of your design (base floor and first floor )
03. Describe your design in less than 300 words.
