II. BACKGROUND/SITUATION ANALYSIS

Water is a vital need of a human being as one cannot survive without it.
Students, teachers, and residents of Sitio Bagong Silang, P-13 San Mateo,
Butuan City are farmers and for a long time has no access to a direct clean, and
safe potable water supply

Bagong Silang National High School is a new school established in year

2008, The majority of the students are sons and daughters of farmers and
laborers . The school and the community has suffers from a lack of water
especially in dry season, which lasts from March to September. The barangay
school previously receives from local water supply but its always out of water,
and with so many residents dependents on it resulted to the school no supply of
water where it becomes a problem for we cannot clean the comfort room, clean
the surrounding and unable to water the gardens and other plants in the school.

Since the school receives minimal funds from the Government thru
MOEE , and this cannot sustain the expenses needed in putting up our own
water supply . This project will result to request the help of the Local School
Board of the City Government to acquire and install Water Hand Pump Supply
in the school.
 Water Hand Pump is the most economical and simple solutions in
providing a collective supply of water in the school. This will also help to
eliminate the risk of our students in falling of in an open wells, and in the use of
pitching of water in distant areas and of uncertain cleanliness, thereby limiting
diseases associated with contaminated water. Thus Sanitation and Hygiene of
the school will be improved.

III. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

IV. DESIRED IMPACT AND OUTCOME OF THE PROJECT

This project will benefit the 169 students with the ages ranging from 12
to 18 years old and 10 teachers to provide an ample supply of water .
It will solve the Health , Sanitation , and Hygiene of the students and
teaching staff.
Safe and acceptable water for human consumption is crucial prequisite
for human being.
Access to safe water is not only fundamental to good health but also to
satisfactory livelihood, dignity and prospects for economic growth and education
