General Info

This document provides a guideline to :

perform LTE BTS commissioning & integration.
create the commissioning file for LTE BTS.

This guideline is prepared for Telkomsel LTE rollout.

This guideline is based on SW release RL40.

LTE Site Commissioning & Integration Procedure
I. Object Creation for LTE Site in NetAct (1)

II. LTE BTS Commissioning & Integration

1) Connect & Login to BTS
2) Update New SW to BTS
3) Select Commissioning Template
4) Send Parameters to BTS & Reset

1 Can also be done after site commissioning & integration.

4 Nokia Solutions and Networks 2013
Accept the self-signed BTS
Connect & Login to BTS certificate.
Login to the BTS using BTS Site Manager.

Note :
Select and use the right version of BTS Site
Manager which is compatible with the SW
package of the LTE BTS.
E.g. for BTS SW package release version
LN4.0_ENB_1202_691_03, use BTS Site
5 Nokia Siemens Networks 2013
Manager version 1202_759_00.
Update New SW to BTS

Update new SW to the BTS and take the

new SW into use. The contents of the SW
package are defined in a master file (i.e.
TargetBD.xml or SW package zip file).

SW update takes approximately 20-30

minutes to complete.
6 Nokia Solutions and Networks 2013
Locate & Select the Commissioning Template
- Template -
Select this if you are using an existing
commissioning file as a template file that contains
the parameters to be used in the commissioning.
You can change the parameters when going
through the Wizard pages.

Select the right template.

Currently, there are 8 templates provided.(2)
2 Based on current site planning

Send the Commissioning Parameters to BTS

Click Send Parameters to send the

commissioning parameters to the BTS.

Note that once the Send Parameters button

is clicked, the process cannot be canceled.

Check List
Once integrated, the BTS operational
state should show On air and the
TRS operational state should show
TRS commissioned.

Once communication is established

with iOMS, OAM state should show
OAM connected.

If GTP-U supervision is enabled,

check to make sure that there is no
GTP-U Path Failure alarm related to
the connection to S-GW.

Check to make sure that there is no

S1 SCTP Path Failure alarm related to
the connection to MME.
