Considering more than 1,800 students studied abroad in the past academic year, you are members of a
relatively small group of UMD students! Why not use your experience to show potential #TerpsAbroad what
its like to study abroad by sharing your experience with others?

Consider being an EA Social Media Ambassador!

As a Social Media Ambassador, you will provide the Education Abroad office with content that will be shared
on our social media accounts. Your expertise is an invaluable resource that makes you a strong
representative of what its like to participate on your program from the student perspective. You are best
able to speak about and showcase living in your host country, how to navigate language/culture, and what
extracurricular activities to pursue, among many, many other topics.


We have several spots open so all students who studied abroad during the Fall 2016 to Summer 2017
academic year are encouraged to apply. To apply, please email us at eaoutreach@umd.edu, and we will
explain the next steps.

The goal of this Ambassadorship is to create a reliable source for fun and relevant content that will help
increase EA engagement with students through captivating social media posts and campaigns. The program
also serves as way to reframe your experience and develop some professional skills about articulating or
showcasing your time abroad in a meaningful way. We hope you see this as a unique and worthwhile
opportunity!

In addition to professional development, ONE ambassador with the most points at the end of the academic
year will also receive a Grand Prize A GoPro camera.

How to earn points and win?

Ambassadors can earn points in the following ways:

o Sending us photos and/or videos
o Doing a Snapchat Takeover
o Completing a #TerpsAbroad profile
o Sharing our posts to your social media pages
o Following our social media accounts
o Participating in our various online campaigns

Your ambassador ship starts as soon as you accept the role. Please email us at eaoutreach@umd.edu if you
