an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1. Annual Plan 2016-17: Under consideration is the letter received from JMD-III,
MSRDC, Mumbai MSRDC/JMD/D-1/NH-160/PR/6053/2016 from MSRDC,
Maharashtra dated 02.11.2016 submitted therewith estimate of amount Section of
Pune-Mangaon , Newly declared NH 753F has been included in the Annual Plan
2017-18. The work of DPR preparation has been entrusted with L. N. Malviya Infra
Projects Pvt. Ltd. The entire project has been divided in three construction packages.
Section-I(A) from 1+275 (Ex. Ch. 13.180) in Pune to km 31+400 (Ex. Ch. 43.420)
(Shende Patil), Section-I(B) from 31+400(Ex. Ch. 43.420) (Shende Patil) to km 69+000
(Ex. Ch. 81.300) (Pune-Raigad District Border) & Section I(C) From km 69+000 (Ex.
Ch. 81.300) (Pune-Raigad District Border) to km 103+775 (Ex. Ch. 116.124) (Mangaon)
is being submitted.
2. Background: The Project road is a newly declared National Highway No. 753F. The
road starts from Pune (at Paud Toll Plaza) and passes through Bhugaon, Pirangut,
Paud, Mulshi town portions in Pune District & Nizampur town portion in Raigad
District and terminates at Junction with NH-17 in Mangaon in the state of
Maharashtra. This whole length 103.775 km (Ex Length 102.944) is principally
declared National Highway. The present estimate is submitted for (Section-I), i.e.
Section from Pune to Shende Patil covering length 30.125 km. The present
carriageway of the project highway is Two Lane with Paved Shoulder, Two lane &
Intermediate Lane. The type of the existing pavement is flexible. Project road passes
through Plain terrain & Hilly Terrain. Forest land exist at many stretches. The
improvement as per IRC:SP-73-2015 is proposed. The details of improvement are
given in subsequent paras.

5. Improvement Proposals:
Keeping in view the length of the project, the design parameters and likely facilities
to be provided in the project, the MSRDC had submitted the Estimate. It is proposed
to have rigid pavement for 2 lane carriageway including paved shoulders & 4 lane
carriageway for this project package. Based on Engineering Surveys, Investigations,
Traffic analysis and projections the following design standards have been adopted as
per Manual of specifications and standards for 2-laning of Highways with paved
shoulder (IRC:SP:73-2015)published by IRC.
