Plant Maintenance

Summary

New maintenance technologies have been attracting attention in view of environmental conservation, lifecycle costs
saving, safety management and facility maintenance (continuous operation). Based on the concepts of RBI(*1) and
RBM(*2), TOYO supports the planning and the activity of maintenance for your plants.

*1 Risk Based Inspection (RBI): The method to determine inspection plan (inspected
point and frequency) to optimize plant safety and economic eciency based on
the risk dened as the product of the probability of failure in the equipment and
piping and the consequence of the failure.
*2 Risk Based Maintenance (RBM): A maintenance planning method based on risk
analysis. For RBM, it refers to the overall plant maintenance technologies. RBM is
used frequently these days because the plant maintenance technology also
includes repair and replacement.

Plant maintenance based on the concept of RBI/RBM

TOYO jointly developed the RBI evaluation tool that considers the unique mode of damage mechanism to urea
plants together with ESR Technology in the United Kingdom, for urea plants which is TOYOs proprietary licensing
process technology.

Equipment evaluation and diagnosis by FFS

We diagnose equipment that employs the FFS(*3) technology, a representative example of which is API 579-
1/ASME FFS-1.

estimating service life when general or local corrosion and/or cracks are found in
equipment and piping.
