EDITORIAL
This quarter we had two major institutional activities one of which
was Annual Day Programme of MESCO Education Society's
Angels' Paradise Nursery Schools, held on 12th December, 2015
at R.D. National College. The occasion was graced by Ms.
Namrata Tanna (Co-Founder Creatives Against Poverty, Regional
Manager Concern India Foundation) as Chief Guest. Mr. Ali
Quraishi, well-wisher, from US, Dr. Afshan Laheji, Dental Surgeon,
(Vice President, Indian Dental Association, Mumbai Branch), Ms.
Shailaja Mulay, Freelance Counselor, Mrs. Suraiya Ansari, Ex
Superintendent MES's Nursery Schools, Ms. Zeenat Khan, Head
Mistress, Anjuman-i- Islam Khalifa Ziauddin Girls' Primary School,
Mahim, graced the programme as Guest of Honours. All the staff of
MESCO, MESCO Education Society, parents, ex-teachers, friends
and many other well wishers attended the Annual Day. Souvenir of
MES Angels Paradise Nursery Schools, was released by Ms.
Namrata Tanna and Dr. Azhar Ali Qureishi, President, MESCO and
MES. Mr. Adil Pawaskar, a well wisher of Nursery Schools
sponsored the gifts to all the participating students of Annual Day.
Fancy Dress presentation by kids was the highlight of the
programme. Kids presented themselves in different personalities
i.e. Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Raziya Sultana, Rani
Laxmibai etc. Different programmes were presented with
dramatization, action songs, Punjabi folk dance, Kashmiri folk
dance, Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan, song on Mother, importance of
Bismillah, and a poem on teacher, besides many short items.
It was a great event and we thank all our esteemed donors and
supporters for their valuable time and contribution to make this
event successful.
MESCO Education Society's Vocational Training Centre
(MESVTC) Students' Felicitation Function was held on 6th
December 2015 to felicitate the meritorious students who have
bagged top ranks in the final exams conducted by the staff of Fr.
Agnel Technical College, Bandra, during the month of August 2015
for the academic year 2014-15. The said function was arranged in
the Auditorium of Crescent English High School. The students of
both the academic years i.e. 2014-15 & 2015-16 were invited to
attend the function. Mr. Habib Fakih, former Executive President of
Maulana Azad Education Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice,
Government of India, was the Chief Guest for this function. The
other Guests of Honour along with management committee
members attended the function.
The students of all six trades (Electrician, Professional Beautician,
Dress Making & Fashion Designing, Refrigeration & A.C.,
Information Technology and Computer Hardware) were given gifts
& certificates in recognition of their pursuit of excellence.
In his address, the Chief Guest for the function emphasized on the
need of technical education in the development of our nation and
the role of MESVTC in answering this significant issue, by its own
new and creative approach, in instituting the scholarships solely for
the students. It is hoped that all students present during the
occasion as audience, were sufficiently encouraged to continue
their education, in order to carve a niche for themselves in society.

QUARTER FULL OF ACTIVITIES
A. Education Department:
l 2 EAS Milap Programmes were held in November 2015.
One on 8th November 2015, which was successfully attended
by 9 Donors & 28 students sponsored by them, and another on
22nd November 2015 which was attended by 15 Donors & 30
students.
l Orientation Programme for newly inducted EAS students
was held on 11th October 2015 at Memon Hall. 64 students, 48
parents and 2 MESCOites attended the same.
l Educational Workshop was organized by Piramal Group
at their 2 centres one at Goregaon in which 20 students
participated and another at Vikhroli in which 18 students were
present on 4th & 5th November, 2015 respectively. It was a
wonderful opportunity for our students having such informative
sessions.

Educational Adoption Schemes are exempted (100%) from Income
Tax under 35AC, whereas donations towards Medical and Poverty
Relief are exempted (50%) under 80G.

Vocational Training Centre Project, and New School Construction
Project are exempted under 35AC.

QUARTER FULL OF ACTIVITIES
Career
l Guidance Programme was held on 10th
November at Crescent English High School. Mr. Aamir Ansari,
Principal & Counseller of Madni High School, was the
resource person. It was attended by 173 students (95 MESCO
& 78 Crescent) and 43 parents.

Mr. Abdul Kader Fazlani for providing very good location at his
premises. Prof. Farhaan Makba, Chairman of Educational
Portfolio Committee, Mrs. Nayan Kalyankar (Ex-HR Head -
TCE), Mr. Wahid Shaikh (Sub-Committee Member), Dr. Rajiv
Naidu (Doctor & Empowerment Coach), Mrs. Shabana Khan,
Counseller, Mufti Ehsanullah, Mr. Maqsood Ahmed and
Mr. Masroor Alam of Fazlani Centre of Excellence in
Language & Literature, were the resource persons of the
Camp.
Disbursement of Educational Aid (College Level)
l Competition.
through NEFT was done. During the quarter, an amount of
Rs.56,70,400/- disbursed to 901 students, bringing amount
disbursed in this category to Rs. 73,57,712/-.
During Mentorship Week (1st week of November 2015)
l
total 52 mentees were counseled and guided by their
respective mentors (Education Department staff members).

B. Medical Services Department:
Free Vitamin A Supplement and De-worming tablets
Distribution Camp was organized at Kurla Dispensary on 14th
November, 2015 for the children of age group between 6 months to
59 months.
On 1st December, 2015 6 months Dialysis Support Forms
Distribution was held. Out of total 67 who turned out for the form,
lots were drawn and finally 35 forms were registered of whom 20
will be provided funds for 6 months dialysis.
C. General Aid Department:
No. of families benefitting from Ration Support is increased to 346.
INSTITUTIONS
CRESCENT ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL:
l 5 Students participated in the Thane District Yoga
Competition organized by District Sports Organization (DSO)
at Dadoji Konddev Stadium on 30th November 2015 at
Chembur. 2 students got selected for the Zonal Level.
l 56 students from Std. I to IX appeared for Science Olympiad
Examination.
l A visit to Scientific Device Ltd, (Bharat Gear) Kausa, was held
for 26 students of Conserve My Planet Programme (CMP).
l 43 Students from Std. IX and X attended the Aakash
Competitive Examination held at Dyansadhna College,
Thane.
l On 9th November 2015, 5 Factor Psychological Test for
understanding the aptitude was administered by Mr. Aamir
Ansari Principal & Counsellor of Madni High School.
l Master Azhar Nadeem Bamne of Std. VII got selected for
State Scholarship and was ranked 33rd amongst participating
students.

Maths Olympiad Examination was held for students of Std. I to

Std. VII. 95 students appeared for the Examination.
On 9th December & 10th December 2015 Medical Check-up

was organized for students from Pre-Primary to Std.VII.
Doctor parents of M.E.S. Crescent English School and
l Our school stood 1st out of 7 schools at the Science Student
project on Disaster Management at Interschool Science
Exhibition organized by Thane Municipal Corporation. Our
School scored 74 points and our project is selected for 2nd
Level (District Level).
l Our School participated with 5 projects at the 41st Science
Exhibition organized by Education Department, Zilla
Parishad, Thane for 3 days at Srirang Vidyalaya, Thane from
17th to 19th December, 2015. In all our school got 4 prizes (a
total 82 projects displayed by 58 participating schools). The
same projects were selected for the District Level
l We are proud to receive BEST SCHOOL AWARD, Green
Champion Award for our project Re-Plantation of trees A
Way To Conserve Planet. We received Best Campaigner and
School Championship Award.
l On 6th October, 2015, Thane District Taekwondo Competition
was held at Dadaji Khondev Stadium. 5 students from the
Kadamba from Std. IX-A, won Gold Medal, Ms. Atiya Javed
from Std. VIII-A won Silver Medal and Ms. Shaikh Muskan,
Std. IX-A, won the Bronze Medal.
l A two days workshop was conducted for Science Teachers
Jogeshwari. It was conducted by Mr. Hemant Lagwankar
The Principal Investigator under the MISSION NCF-2005
programme in association with KAWISH Organisation. Mr.
Resource Person to guide the teachers to conduct the
teaching from the material provided as a kit by Mr. Hemant
Lagwankar.
ANGELS' PARADISE NURSERY SCHOOLS:
Annual Day was held on 12th December, 2015 at R.D. National
College Bandra West.
MES's VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE:
On 6th December Students' Felicitation Function was
conducted at Crescent English High School, Kausa-Mumbra.
Around 310 students attended the function.
R.C. MAHIM MUNICIPAL URDU SCHOOL:
On 10th October Career Guidance Lecture was conducted by
Mr. Hussain Ali Dharamsi from Alif Academy, for Std. X students
from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. It was attended by 120 students.
On 13th October Guest Lectures were conducted at R.C.
Mahim Urdu Municipal School Hall for the Students of various
D.Ed. colleges (R.C. Mahim, Anjuman Khair-ul-Islam, R.C. Imam
Bada and Anjuman Islam D.Ed. College). It was conducted by Miss.
Memon, Mr. Mehboob Shaikh & Mr. Hamid Iqbal Siddiqui on the
subjects such as Personality Development, G.K. & Stress
Management. There were around 200 students present. Sports
Day for Std. VIII to X was held from 17th November to 19th
November 2015.
FORTHCOMING EVENTS
Top Ranking Students' Felicitation Programme will be held on
Saturday, 9th January 2016 at R.D. National College
Auditorium, Bandra (W).
Annual Day of our Crescent English High School will be held on
Saturday, 16th January and Sunday, 17th January 2016 at
school hall.
Sewing Machine Distribution Programme will be held on
Sunday, 20th March, 2016.

Corpus from Contractor Family.

Khopekar towards Kurla Dispensary during this quarter.
Nursery Schools
During this quarter, we received Rs.1,57,500/- towards Nursery
Schools from various donors.

During this quarter we received scholarship assistance for
Rs.12,000/- from Ms. Zarana Ahmed and Rs.1,07,350/- from
Mr. Nadeem Sayed for deserving Vocational Training Students.
Educational Aid (annual sponsorship Rs.5000/- per student)
During this quarter we received Rs. 33,200/- towards the scheme.
EAS (sponsorship amount Rs.18,000/- annually)
We received Rs. 2,62,000/- towards EAS sponsorship from 18
donors.
HCES (annual sponsorship of Rs.50,000/- per student)
We received Rs. 50,000/- from Mr. Sayed Salahuddin towards the
scheme.
Sewing Machines (sponsorship amount of Rs.6,000/- per
Singer sewing machine)
We received Rs. 96,492/- as sponsorship of Sewing Machines
from 4 donors.
Ration Support (ration for one family for one complete year,
Rs.17,000/-)
We received Rs.13.41 lacs from 6 donors towards ration support.
Dialysis
We received Rs.5,66,688/- towards Dialysis support.
Give India
We received a total of Rs.21,65,546/- from M/s GiveIndia under
various donation options i.e. for Dialysis, General Medical Aid,
Ration Support and Sewing Machine. The amount includes
Rs.17,89,039/- raised during India Smile Challenge plus the
prize money of Rs.1,80,105/-. We stood first amongst all
participating NGOs in terms of maximum funds raised and
were on 4th position in terms of No. of Unique Donors.
We are grateful to all who generously contributed during the
Event and helped us raise the funds.
Medical Assistance
During this quarter we have received Rs. 1,83,705/- towards the
scheme.
Interest Amount
We received interest amount totaling to Rs. 61,023/- from 3 well
wishers during this quarter.

MESCO is like my family, without MESCO, I can't achieve my goal, and today what I am, it is only because of MESCO, says Ms. Sadiya
Naaz Ansari who has finished M.Sc. (Physics) and is now working with G.N. Khalsa College as an Asst. Professor.
Major educational qualifications which I have been able to complete, is because of this prestigious organization. Whatever position I

Associate.
MESCO is a great institute. I got many opportunities and help from MESCO for my education. I am extremely thankful to MESCO for
