LGATE Gateway BACnet Modbus

CEA709 MBus
LGATE952 KNX OPC
Datasheet #89023318

The LGATE Gateway LGATE952 are powerful universal gateways that can host
user specific graphical pages to be used with LWEB802/803. They can simul
LWEB

taneously integrate and map data points from multiple open protocols. Local
operation and override is provided by the built-in jog dial and the backlit display
(128x64 pixels). Device and data point information is provided by the web inter
face and shown on the display via symbols and in text format.
The powerful universal gateways provide connectivity functions to concurrently
integrate CEA709 (LonMark Systems), BACnet, KNX, Modbus, and MBus subsys
LROC

tems. LonMark Systems can be integrated via IP852 (Ethernet/IP) or TP/FT10.

BACnet integration is supported through BACnet/IP (Ethernet/IP) or BACnetMS/TP
(RS485). LGATE952 feature an integrated Remote Network Interface (RNI) to
access the TP/FT10 channel on the device via Ethernet/IP. LGATE devices imple
ment the BACnet Building Controller (B-BC) profile, can be configured to be a
CEA-709 BACnet KNX M-Bus BBMD and are BTL tested and WSPcert certified. In addition, the universal gate

ways provide connectivity to KNXnet/IP and ModbusTCP via Ethernet/IP and to

OPC
ModbusRTU via RS485. MBus and KNXTP1 device integration needs optional
Modbus OPC UA enocean
XML-DA interface modules.
The gateway functionality allows data communication between all communica
SMI WLAN SNMP tion technologies available on the device. Different technology data points are
mapped through Local Connections on the device. The mapping of different tech
LIOB

nology data points on distributed devices is supported by Global Connections.

The universal gateways LGATE952 also support Smart Auto-Connect the
automatic generation of connections to substantially reduce engineering efforts
and cost. Optionally, mathematical objects can be applied within a connection to
Gateway
calculate the data point output values depending on the formula used. All tech
Gateways

nology data points are automatically created as OPCXML-DA and OPCUA data
points.
VNC RNI
Each LGATE952 is equipped with two Ethernet ports. It can either be configured
L-INX Automation Server Made in Austria
y=f(x) to use the internal switch to interconnect the two ports or every port is configured
to work in a separate IP network.

When the Ethernet ports are configured for two separate IP networks, one port
can be connected for instance to a WAN (Wide Area Network) with enabled net
work security (HTTPS) while the second port can be configured to be connected
to an insecure network (LAN) where the standard building automation protocols
like BACnet/IP, LON/IP, or ModbusTCP are present. These devices also feature fire
wall functionality of course to isolate particular protocols or services between the
ports.
LDALI

Using the internal switch, a daisy chained line topology of up to 20 devices can be
built, which reduces costs for network installation. The IPswitch also allows the
setup of a redundant Ethernet installation (ring topology), which increases reli
ability. The redundant Ethernet topology is enabled by the Rapid Spanning Tree
Protocol (RSTP), which is supported by most managed switches.
Routers,NIC

The LGATE devices provide fully featured AST functionality (Alarming,

Scheduling, and Trending) and can be integrated perfectly into the LWEB System.
