1. Introduction
The purpose of this document is to provide installation instructions and guidelines to ensure high quality of
installation for MTN Irancell LTE.

2. Health & Safety

Safety Procedures are detailed documents to cover the implementation of safe systems of work. As such they
constitute a mandatory element in the attainment of the required safety standards given either by industrial
standards or by law.

The project safety procedures are to ensure utmost safety of all individuals, materials, machines, vehicles,
environment and the Customers property.

The Project Health & Safety Coordinator or the designated person will ensure that the safety procedures are kept
up to date and under constant review in the light of a feedback from operational experience and from safety audit
reports. Changes will be initiated where existing safety procedures are found to be inadequate or in need of
improvement.

5. Project Scope
The solution of this project will be feeder less for all sites and there are two types of LTE will be installed :

1. TDD feeder less with new antennas

2. FDD feeder less

And for the TDD there are two scenario for installation of the RF module (FZQE):

1. To be installed with existing WiMax and replace the existing antenna

2. Or to be installed separately if there is no WiMax with adding new antenna

RRH (FZQE) can be located back to the antenna, as shown in below photo

Replace the existing antennas (with 8 port antenna) and all details in the last chapter
Installation of the System Module in the agreed location (on top of ELTIK CAB or mounted on the side of
same CAB or mounted on back of the same CAB) and details of the installation you will find in chapter 1
Install the FZQE as mounted on pole of the antenna and all details in chapter 2
Installation of the FPFC as mounted on pole of the new antenna and all details in chapter 3
All the cabling will be clarified with each item separately

1.3. Installation process of the FSMFa :


It will be with different scenarios but all those scenarios will use the plinth FMFA:

1.3.1.Installing the FSMFA on ground ( to be installed with FMFA)

The FSMFa will be installed on the ground or mounted (wall or pole) by using Flexi Mounting kit for Floor, Wall

and Pole (FMFA). FMFA is required in SM installation according to scope and it provides grounding points for

System module grounding.

Plinth (FMFA)

1. V.104-105 is installed on the wall or pole or on ground.

2. Installation of FMFA:

Clearance space should be taken care off before starting the installation as in next point

First keep the Plinth on the floor and mark the holes as per the given drawing

Grout the Plinth as per Points shown in the picture with either Anchor Bolts in the case of Foundation or
Coach Bolts in case of shelter.

Grounding the Plinth (FMFA)


Right after installing the plinth the very first thing that needs to be carried out is the grounding. Laying and
terminating the grounding cable at the Grounding point located at the front side of the Plinth.

Installing the Mechanical Unit (Casing of FSMFa):


There are fixing studs on the upper side of the plinth and there are 4 holes at bottom side of EMHA:

Put Casing on top of the plinth; make sure all 4 holes on the mechanical unit fit all 4 studs on plinth.
After fixation properly the mechanical unit to the back side and then tighten the screws.

Cabling of FSMF

1. Strip each DC power cable and wrap with tape; this will protect the rubber boot.
2. Remove the plug from the rubber boot.
Note: if the cables do not fit, carefully cut the rubber boot with scissors until the cables fit, it
should be a good tight fit.

3. Feed the taped ends of the DC power cables into the rubber boot.

4. Remove the tape from the DC power cables.

5. Install the black DC power cable into the + side of


the FSMF DC IN connector, torque screw down
terminal to 3.7 ft lb (5Nm).

6. Install the blue/red DC power cable into the - side


of the FSMF DC IN connector, torque screw down
terminal to 3.7 ft lb (5Nm).

Tighten screw terminals.

7. Pull the rubber boot over the DC in port and secure


with attached screw, torque to 1.5 ft lb (2Nm).

8. If more than one cable is used in the rubber boot, zip


tie the end, tighten, and flush-cut the zip tie.

9. Verify all the connections are installed and properly torqued.


10. Flip the two associated breakers to the on position.
11. Verify power to the FSMF.

Installation of Optical fiber and SFP

The optical cables are connected between the


System Module and each of the RF
Modules, and are used to distribute signals
between the modules.
1. Remove the protective seals from the relevant
optical cable connector on both the
System Module and the RF Module. Store the
seals for later use.

2. Remove the protective cap from the SFP


optical transceiver and insert the
transceiver into the System Module..
3. Pull back the optical cable connector boot to
uncover the connector
4. Remove the protective plugs and clean the
connector tips according to previous
instructions. Connect the cable to the System
Module. Make sure it clicks into
place.
5. Push the connector boot firmly into place.

6. Route the cable through the external cable


entries. Coil up the excess cable and
fasten it with cable ties to the left-hand cable
support plate on the module casing
(see next slide).

6. Remove the protective cap from the second optical transceiver and insert it into the RF Module
8. Remove the protective plugs from the optical connector and clean the tips
according to instructions. Connect the optical cable to the RF Module. Make sure it
clicks into place.
9. Push the connector boot firmly into place.

Installation of LAN cabling

1. Remove the connector seal from the relevant transmission unit connector. Store

the seal for later use.

2. Route the transmission cable through the cable entry.

3. Pull back the connector boot covering the transmission cable connector.

4. Connect the cable to the transmission unit.

5. Push the cable connector boot firmly into place

NOTICE: The unit's airflow runs from the lower to the upper side of the unit. Make sure
that the unit is installed in a room that allows proper ventilation.

NOTICE: Electrostatic discharge (ESD) might damage the equipment. Wear an ESD
wrist strap or use a corresponding method when handling the equipment.

Procedure
The module presented in the pictures is FZHM RRH, but the instructions can be applied
to each of the modules listed in Introduction to Flexi RRH modules.

1 Fix the upper FPKA mounting bracket onto the


pole and tighten the mounting
bracket screws (M10) to 30 Nm (22.12 ft-lb).

2 Release the strain relief plate by undoing


the screw.
Save the screw for later use.

3 When installing FZQC/E, screw the mounting kit first.


The mounting kit is not pre-assembled with FZQC/E. Install the mounting kit onto a module with M8x20 hexagon
bolts by performing the following steps.
Sub-steps
a) Use the correct holes of the mounting kit as shown in the Figure above: Mounting kit dimensions.
b) Undo four M8 screws from the new
FZQC/E unit.

c) Fix the strain relief plate onto the lower


bracket using two M5 screws and
tighten them to 4 Nm (2.95 ft-lb.).

d) Attach the upper mounting bracket with two M5 bolts.


e) Attach the lower mounting bracket with two M5 bolts.

f) Tighten four bolts to 20 Nm (14.8 ft-lb).

4 Fix the strain relief plate onto the lower


bracket using two M5 screws and
tighten them to 4 Nm (2.95 ft-lb.).

5 Screw two screws to the upper part of the FPKA bracket. Do not tighten the
screws yet. Lift the module RRH with the pre-assembled bracket to the FPKA.
NOTICE: Do not lift the RRH on the pole by the handle. Use the lifting point instead.

Installation of FPKA steps

Fix the upper mounting bracket on the pole and attach the mounting bracket screws on the bracket.

Fix one half (the one with threads) of the lower pole mounting bracket on then FZQE adapter mechanics
with the mounting screws.

Lift the FZQE on the pole and fit it to the pole mounting bracket's mounting screws.

Tighten the mounting screws.

Place the counterpart of the lower pole mounting bracket in its place and tighten the screws.

Make sure that the pole mounting brackets are aligned and the FZQE is not twisted.

If a second FZQE or plinth is required, install it on the other side of the pole mounting bracket (if there is
enough space).

Fix the adapter mechanics on the FZQE or plinth as described in Step 3 above.

Fix the mounting screws on the upper pole mounting bracket.

Lift the FZQE or plinth on the pole and fit it to the pole mounting bracket's mounting screws and tighten
the screws.

Insert the lower fixing screws to fix the FZQE or plinth on the lower pole mounting bracket. Tighten the
mounting screws.

Make sure that the FZQE or plinth is not twisted. When the plinth is in a correct position, tighten the two
remaining screws in the lower bracket of the adapter mechanics.

Next, ground the FZQE or plinth to the site main ground.

Route cable carefully, make sure the sealing wrap up cable without leak. Make sure the cable size
