Corpus-driven Quantitative Evaluation of Translation eadability

Abstract With the help of corpus technologyit attempted to firstly extract from two English versions of
The Dream of ed Mansions some quantifiable textual features on lexicalsentential and textual levels and
then analyzed such features in a contrastive way so as to manifestly display the quantitative evaluating
process of translation texts Findings of the empirical study showed that Hawkins' translation had a clearer
logical structure butat the same timewould burden ordinary readers with heavier lexical cognition load
