Abstract: T ranslat ion Studies ( T S) is an area of research that has benef it ed greatly from and been
advanced by t he corpus met hodolog y over the past t wo decades. T his paper f irst introduces t he paradig mat ic
shift s in T ranslation St udies, and then explores the state of the art of Corpus T ranslat ion St udies in t hree
areas, namely, applied translat ion studies, descript ive translat ion studies and theoret ical translat ion st udies,
in an at tempt t o est ablish a new theoret ical f ramework for translat ion studies and t ranslat ion t eaching.
