1. Welding Machines - Validation standard - BS7570:2000 (Please check for the latest one).

Welding machines will be considered in Grade 1 Category with and accuracy requirement of
10%. Parameters which needs to be checked is Amps, Volts & Wire Feed Speed. Please note that
the digital clamp meter you are using shall be calibrated to an acuurancy of Class 2.5 i.e 2.5% of
full scale. Also, make sure that the power source needs to be stabelized for 30 minutes
(Particularly in case of Generators).

2. Portable ovens - I have no idea for the same. However, you may check with calibration
agencies within you region. Generally it cannot be calibrated as the temperature fluctuation
within the oven is more. i.e. if you set the electrode holding oven at a temperature of 100
deg.cent, you may notice that the temperature fluctuates from 80 to 120 deg cent & never keep
stable as the ovens have ventellation. The purpose of ventelation is to keep the temp. in the oven
stabelized. We do the monitoring of ovens once a year.

The standard had distinguished power sources in two categories i.e. Grade 1 & Grade 2. Grade
2 equipments are precision grade equipments Validated to an accuracy of less than equal to 5%. The
instrument used to validate Grade 2 equipmets shall be calibrated to Class 1 accuracy i.e. 1% of full
scale.
