Abstract: T he learner corpus m akes it possib le to know how learners learn the fore ig n language through em pirical
stud ies. Its advent and developm ent offer a new w ay of th ink ing for fore ign language teach ing and research. H ow ever,
on ly a few teachers try to use it as a new research approach. Beg inn ing w ith a brief introductio n to the relationsh ip be-
tw een learner corpo ra and fore ig n language teaching and research, this paper exp lo res th e practical applicat ions of learner
corpo ra in to a teach in g mode l and the possib le m eth ods o f bu ild ing the indiv idual learner co rpus for error analysis.
