POIT-01 qc (kg/cm2) POIT-02 qc (kg/cm2) POIT-03 qc (kg/cm2)
From this figure we can see, that in the depth of 6 meters from existing ground, the relative stiff
soil bearing capacity was found. In this layer the CPT value (qc) about 45 kg/cm2. By considering
the qc-depth graph mode, conclusion can be taken that the depth foundation (pile foundation)
should be used for this building
2.3Seismicity
The City of Dili, like other parts of Timor Island is generally included as high-risk earthquake region. The
earthquake in this region is influenced by the activity of Banda fault, which is located at the southern
part of Timor Island, as shown on Picture 2.04.
Fig. 2:04 The Fracture Pattern at the Indonesian territory and Timor Leste territory
Based on the result of the study conducted of expert tem of Indonesia earthquake map development
(SNI 03-1726-2002, article 4.7), Timor island is included in the earthquake zone 5, or the second highest
in Indonesia. The Map of the earthquake can be seen in the picture 2.05.

Waktu Getar (det)
Therefore, the design of the buildings in Dili, can use the earthquake map contained in SNI 03-1726-
2002 as planning data, before the East Timor has its own earthquake map.
One of the important data in the design of earthquake resistant building is the data about the
earthquake response spectrum design, which is linked with each of the earthquake area. Figure 2.06
indicates the design spectrum curve , which is expressed in the form of the design earthquake
coefficient. The curve will be used in the process of structural analysis, especially for calculate the
internal force caused by earthquake loading
In general, the building consists of two floors with one floor addition in central part of building. Building
plan can be seen on the Fig 2.0 to 2.09. While the Cross section and the Long Section that show the
structural element dimensions are shown in the figure 2.10

Steel (reinforcement)
For this building, the Steel Frame must be obtained from the factories that meet ISO standards or
national standards where the steel factory is located. If using steel from Indonesia, the steel must meet
the standards of SNI. For all reinforcement of 13 mm in diameter, the steel quality to be used is 390
MPa, and for the reinforcement <13 mm in diameter, it must use the steel quality of 240 MPa.
Referring to the SNI 03-1726-2002 and SNI 02-2847-2003 standards, the age of the building is planned to
be at least 50 years old
