Kindergarten programme is open to both local and international students

SINGAPORE, 26 July 2017 Expatriates in Singapore have long complained of high

international school fees, which can exceed S$80,000 per annum for families with two
children.

This will change in 2018 with the opening of One World International School (OWIS),
Singapores first large-scale international school with moderate fees.

OWIS announced today that its parent company had won a hotly contested moderate-fee
international school tender based on price and concept, piloted by the Singapore Economic
Development Board.

The public tender was designed in response to international businesses and employees
requests for Singapore to offer quality international schools with moderate fees.

OWIS Nanyang campus will open in January 2018 and offer the International Baccalaureate
Programme at the primary school and diploma levels, as well as Cambridges IGCSE
programme, for students aged three to 18.

The proposed school will be a multicultural, diverse international school with no nationality
comprising more than 30% of total student enrolment.

The eight-acre campus will also house a Nature Kindergarten, which will offer a natural
learning environment for students aged between three to six years. The kindergarten
programme is open to both local and international students.

Other state-of-the-art student facilities include, but are not limited to, dedicated spaces for
entrepreneurship, performing and visual arts, technology and robotics. Classrooms will be
equipped with e-learning technology, including a free Apple iPad for use on campus.

OWIS will invest more than S$10 million in the Nanyang campus, which can accommodate
1,200 students.

The new OWIS campus is expected to create more than 100 direct and indirect job
opportunities for Singaporeans in administration and services, in addition to over 100
teaching jobs.

Gregor Polson, Principal of OWIS, said: OWIS seeks to offer a holistic multicultural
education that delivers outstanding results without compromising on the quality of

teaching. While we are focusing on quality tuition as the core, we will offer a unique and all-
rounded learning experience for our students.

OWIS Nanyang campus will be located at 21 Jurong West Street 81. The school also operates
a campus at Upper East Coast Road, which was opened in 2008, making the Nanyang
campus its second campus in Singapore.

School fees for kindergarten and primary students will start from S$17,000 per annum and
not exceed S$20,000 per annum for higher grades. Optional activities will be available on an
additional fee basis.

OWIS Nanyang will allow parents to view the campus starting 15 October 2017. Classes for
the first academic session will commence on 2 January 2018. Expressions of interest for
student admissions can now be filed at www.owis.org, with admissions to be confirmed on
a first-come, first-served basis.
