ABSTRACT

WHO (World Health Organization) and DEPKES RI recommends first six months
of the birth of the baby should be breastfed exclusively and given supplementary
food Complementary feeding (MP-ASI) after six months. In fact many mothers in
the community who have given their children Complementary feeding (MP-ASI)
under six months, due to a lack of knowledge. This study aims to determine how
the level Knowledge of Mother Breastfeeding and Complementary feeding (MP-
ASI) in infants aged 0-24 months. This research is a descriptive study conducted
Patiluban Mudik Puskesmas working area, District of Natal, Mandailing Natal.
This research was conducted in October 2016. Total population of 1361 people
while the total sample of 72 people taken by Quota sampling in Puskesmas
Patiluban Mudik, District of Natal, Mandailing Natal.
This results of study showed the majority of respondents have a level of
knowledge of was much as 40 people (55.6%). On the analysis of the age of 25-
29 years of age obtained from 31 people as many as 12 people (38.7%) were
knowledgeable good. Based education obtained from 20 people who had SMA/
equivalent 12 people (60%) good knowledge, of two people who educated
Academic/ Bachelor of two people (100%) good knowledge. Based on the work of
30 people found the job as a Housewife many as 10 people (33.3%) good
knowledge, from one person his job as a Public Servant by one person (100%)
good knowledge. Based on the source of information obtained from 65 people
who get the information came from etc. (Friends, Family or Medicals) were 25
people (38.4%) good knowledge.
