    DearMemberofthe115thCongress,

    Asyouknow,Americansacrossthecountryareusingthissummertimetoenjoythe
    outdoors,manyvisitingouramazingpubliclandssystem.ForgenerationsLatino
    communitieshavebeenadvocates,stewards,andrecreationistsofthesebeautifulplaces.
    However,theircontributionsandreflectionintheoverallconservationmovementhavebeen
    limited.

    We,theundersignedorganizationsandindividuals,believethatisimportanttorecognize
    andcommemoratethecontributionsandculturalconnectionsthatLatinosholdto
    conservationandourpubliclands.Wewriteinsupportofthebi-partisanLatino
    ConservationResolutiontobeintroducedthisJulyintheSenatebySenatorBennetand
    SenatorHellerandintheHousebyCongresswomanNapolitanoandCongressmanCurbelo.

    Wehopethatyouunderstandtheworthinessofourcauseanddemonstrateyour
    commitmentandleadershiptotheLatinocommunityandconservationbysupportingthese
    resolutions.

    Latinocommunitiesbelieveitisourmoral,andculturalresponsibilitytoprotectthe
    environmentandourpubliclands.Latinosareoverwhelmingsupportiveofconservation,the
    protectionofpubliclandsandimprovingaccesstotheoutdoors.ManyLatinosareactive
    frommeetingwithelectedofficialstoattendingtownhallsonthesubjectinsupporting
    ourpubliclands.Now,Latinosacrossthecountryaremakingsuretheirvoicesareheardas
    theyadvocateforprotection,andincreasedaccesstoourpubliclands.

    Latinossupportpubliclandsinavarietyofwaysincludingservinginourpublicland
    managementagenciesasseasonalemployees,full-timeemployees,interns,andmuchmore.
    Theyalsoworkforthelargerenvironmentalcommunityadvocatingfortheprotectionofour
    cleanwater,cleanairandcleanenergy.

    ThisresolutionwouldbeapartofalargerefforttoraiseawarenessofLatinocommunities
    andtheirconnectionsandcontributionstoprotectingourpubliclands.ThroughoutJulyas
    partofLatinoConservationWeek,hundredsofLatinosandotherAmericansacrossthe
    nationwilldemonstratetheirloveforpubliclandsbyattendingtheover100plannedevents
    rangingfromhiking,camping,fishing,andmuchmore.

    YouhavetheopportunitytoconnectwithLatinosontheseissuesandrepresenttheir
    concernsandvaluesinCongressthroughtheseresolutionsandweencourageyoutodoso.
