Spaera Paxis

Introduction
Spaera Paxis means sphere of peace in the ancient language of Thyatis. The denizens of
this world refer to it simply as Paxis or the World. Few members of any culture have any
knowledge about the other worlds in Caelus or the Multiverse beyond.

History
After the Divisio, the intelligent races began organizing into several large Kingdoms in
Vertex while Astrus remains largely unsettled. For the past 10,000 years, the human
kingdoms of vertex have come to a general state of peace and trade. The Elven kingdoms
of the forests have established peaceful relations with all of their neighbors. The Dwarven
kingdoms in the mountains are content to mine and trade with the other Kingdoms.

Astrus has a few civilized kingdoms along the great sea as well as some settlements
belonging to the Vertex Kingdoms. Although there is a general peace, there is still much
to be concerned about. The Tribes of the Vertex tundra often come south to raid villages
while monstrous armies from Astrus occasionally need to be dealt with.

Geography
Paxis is almost 50% water. The lands are predominantly green filled with rich soil and
dense forests. Life abounds in all but the most remote areas such as the frozen poles and
the tundra leading to them. The Planet is roughly 10,000 miles in circumference which
would make it less than half of the size of the planet earth. There are two continents with
a great sea between them and an ocean flanking them on the left and right. The Continent
above the great sea is referred to as the Vertex. The Continent below is referred to as the
Astrus.
Time
Time on Paxis consists of a 20 hour day. Months are broken into five weeks each of
which is six days long. There are 10 months in each year which cover four seasons.
