Lake Vista Increases Security
p8

by Jamal Meloncon
Police officials and board members of Lake Vistas Crime
Prevention District met July 17 to provide updates on cameras and
patrolling. Third Dist. Commander Keith Zilibich gave the report
on cameras - Levee Dist. Captain Craig Boudreaux was also present.

Zibilich said some cameras have been relocated and others
had their angles adjusted, such as license plate cameras. Theres
no way to enter Lake Vista without being caught on camera, he
noted. A new remote access system for the cameras has also been
installed, which Zilibich will train Homeland Security to operate.

Boudreaux said he will hire 5 - 6 more district officers in

the next three months and that they will patrol more frequently,
especially on Lakeshore Drive.

Carol Asher, Lake Vista Crime Prevention District president,
applauded the levee polices presence, and she encouraged communication
between residents and both the NOPD and the levee police.
