DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF LENGTH ADJUSTABLE

BELT CONVEYOR
SYNOPSIS

This project is the development of the conveyor to achieve various

applications in the industrial field. This conveyor can be used in different

areas independent of its belt length. Mainly the conveyor is used for

transporting the material from one to other in the mechanical field. There are

different types of conveyor are available and also different types of belts are

there. Hence the different sizes of belts can be easily adjusted and fitted to

this conveyor.

WORKING PRINCIPLE:
In our project, we have made a slight modifications in the ordinary

conveyor. But that slight modification gives more better result for the

industrial field. This project is constructed by the following components

such as rollers, conveyor belt, dc motor and a spring setup. The two rollers

are mounted over the base frame. From that, one roller is fixed in a stable

condition. Then the another roller is fitted as a hinged joint end which is

connected to the spring arrangement. Then the dc motor is connected to the

fixed roller. The conveyor belt can be fitted to the rollers easily by pulling
the adjustable roller against the spring tension. After the belt is fitted, the the

adjustable roller can be released which will hold the belt tightly. Like that,

the various sized belts can be fitted to this conveyor by the above procedure.

ADVANTAGES:

Reduce production cost

Belt of different size can be used

In this mechanism there is no backlash

DISADVANTAGES:

Conveyor belt can be moved in some angle while adjusting the belt

size.

In all small and medium scale industries
