Objectives:
The course is designed to enable the students to appreciate the role of operations as a corporate
strategy for global competitiveness and to do good decision making and execution in-

(a) Planning, Scheduling and Control of Production & Operations function.


(b) Productivity improvement through layout Planning, engineering and work simplification
(c) Quality Planning, Control ,Improvement and Management
(d) Effective and efficient process flow and inventory management of materials and
(e) Implementation of modern operations systems and practices like Lean Processing, TPM,
Six Sigma etc.
