priming and other specific joint preparation techniques are
required to obtain rapid, optimum adhesion of joint sealants to
joint substrates.
b. Perform tests under normal environmental conditions that will
exist during actual installation.
7. Pre-Installation Inspection. Installer to contact manufacturer of clay
panel wall cladding system, Owner and Architect, prior to installation of
clay panel wall cladding system shall proceed on a visit to the
manufacturer.
2. Storage:
a. Store components on platforms or pallets, covered with
tarpaulins or other suitable weather-tight ventilated covering.
Store components so that water accumulations will drain freely.
b. Do not store clay panels in contact with other materials that
might cause staining, surface damage, or other deleterious
effect.
c. Do not stack platforms or pallets one on top of another.
3. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for
installation.
4. Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with
solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local
authorities having jurisdiction.
1.9.1 PROJECT CONDITIONS
Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation)
within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not
install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's
absolute limits.
1.9.2 COORDINATION
Building structure to support clay panel wall cladding system shall be
coordinated with clay panel wall cladding system shop drawings.
1.9.3 WARRANTY
1. Manufacturer shall warrant the material for a period of 20 years from
date of Substantial Completion against material defects.
2. Installer shall warrant the workmanship for a period of 5 years from
date of Substantial Completion against defects in Workmanship.
3. The installation warranty shall provide that the exterior wall system will
remain weather tight during the warranty period and that if any leaks
occur due to faulty installation practices, that the system will be
repaired or replaced as required to render the system weather-tight, at
no cost to the Owner. The warranty shall cover labor and materials
