(Marine Works)

Underwater Inspection Works and Submarine Cable Laying Operations

from Lap Sap Wan to the Eastern Boundary of Hong Kong Waters

With immediate effect and for a period of approximately 6 months, marine

works involving underwater inspections and cable laying operations will be carried out
along the cable alignment from Lap Sap Wan to the eastern boundary of Hong Kong
Waters, which is formed by joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

(A) 22 12.659 N 114 15.319 E

(B) 22 12.809 N 114 15.502 E
(C) 22 12.651 N 114 15.888 E
(D) 22 11.913 N 114 16.342 E
(E) 22 11.994 N 114 17.586 E
(F) 22 11.806 N 114 23.128 E
(G) 22 11.864 N 114 23.357 E
(H) 22 13.081 N 114 24.611 E
(I) 22 13.389 N 114 25.066 E
(J) 22 13.622 N 114 28.216 E
(K) 22 13.574 N 114 28.332 E
(L) 22 13.692 N 114 29.712 E
(M) 22 13.573 N 114 30.147 E

2. The works will be carried out by a flotilla of vessels including one

cable-laying barge, three dumb lighters, one flat top barge, one tugboat and one guard
boat. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to
suit operational requirements.

3. A working area of approximately 150 metres around each barge and lighter
will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be
laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barges and lighters.

4. The hours of work will be from 0700 to 2300 hours.

5. Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in

international and local regulations.

6. Diving operations will be carried out from time to time.

7. Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution at a slow

speed and keep clear of the barges and lighters, bearing in mind there are divers
working in the area.

8. A drawing showing the cable alignment is attached to this Notice.
