Minutes of the Commissioners Meeting


May 17, 2017

The regular scheduled meeting of the Williamson County Emergency Services District #8 was held on
Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 6:00p.m. at 3500 D B Wood Road. The President, Bobby Bunte, being in the
chair, and a quorum present, the meeting was called to order at 6.00pm.

Present: Commissioners Bobby Bunte, Bennie Piper, Ira Wood, Troy Rodriguez
Staff: Chris Barrick, Nancy Rangel
Visitors: Chief John Sullivan, Eric Johnson w/The City of Georgetown, Jackson Wells and Ray W.
Holliday, of Brown Reynolds Watford Architects

Meeting

1. Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the Regular Session meeting
held on April 19, 2017.

Commissioner Rodriguez made a motion to approve the Regular Session meeting minutes held
on April 19, 2017. Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carried.

2. Presentation of the monthly Treasurers Report and payment of bills by Chris Barrick.

Money Market balance: $4,551,458.11


Checking: $441,168.14
Total Money Market and Checking balance: $4,999,626.25
Commissioner Wood made a motion to accept the Treasurers report for April as read and pay
the bills as submitted. Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carried.

3. Monthly presentation and report(s) by City of Georgetown Fire Chief John Sullivan.

Chief Sullivan gave the Board a brief overview of the percentage of ESD8 and EMS related
responses in April as well as other City-wide events and developments occurring in April.

4. Discussion and possible action regarding the annexation of the Whitetail Subdivisions, Garey
Park, and surrounding properties into ESD8.

As of the ESD8 meeting last night, May 16, 2017, all of the official documents and order have
been signed and mailed certified to ESD8 attorney, Ken Campbell.
5. Discussion and possible action related to the construction of Fire Station #6.

Jackson Wells and Ray W. Holliday, of Brown Reynolds Watford Architects (BRW) presented
the Board with a Power Point of their experience with the process of building Fire Stations and
reviewed it in detail.

Commissioner Piper made a motion to allow Eric Johnson to begin negotiations with BRW
Architects to build Station 6. Commissioner Rodriguez seconds. Motion carries.

6. Discussion and possible action on web and email services.

Carry over.

7. Public Comment.

None.

Next regular session meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 6:00p.m. at the Public Safety
Operations and Training Center. No further business was discussed or actions taken. Commissioner Piper
made a motion for adjournment. Commissioner Wood seconds. Meeting was adjourned at 8:58p.m.
