IMPORTANCEOFRAWMATERIALINYARNMANUFACTURING:
Rawmaterialrepresentsabout50to70%oftheproductioncostofashortstapleyarn.Thisfactis
sufficienttoindicatethesignificanceoftherawmaterialfortheyarnproducer.Itisnotpossibleto
useaproblemfreerawmaterialalways,becausecottonisanaturalfibreandtherearemany
propertieswhichwillaffecttheperformance.Ifallthepropertieshavetobegoodforthecotton,the
rawmaterialwouldbetooexpensive.Toproduceagoodyarnwiththisdifficulties,anintimate
knowledgeoftherawmaterialanditsbehaviourinprocessingisamust.

Fibrecharacteristicsmustbeclassifiedaccordingtoacertainsequenceofimportancewithrespect
totheendproductandthespinningprocess.Moreover,suchquantifiedcharacteristicsmustalsobe
assessedwithreferencetothefollowing

whatistheidealvalue?
whatamountofvariationisacceptableinthebalematerial?
whatamountofvariationisacceptableinthefinalblend

Suchvaluableexperience,whichallowsonetodeterminethemostsuitableusefortherawmaterial,
canonlybeobtainedbymeansofalong,intensifiedanddirectassociationwiththerawmaterial,
thespinningprocessandtheendproduct.

Lowcostyarnmanufacture,fulfillingofallqualityrequirementsandacontrolledfibrefeedwith
