Introduction
many individuals. The workplace in todays age is a highly competitive environment and if very
vital information is released to the wrong people that could cause a major loss of
lead to a loss of loyalty and confidence, which would ultimately result in a loss of productivity.
Moreover, when confidential information is in the wrong hands, it can be used to commit illegal
crimes which then could turn into major lawsuits for employers and employees. Furthermore, I
believe many employees do not know what can be confidential information because employers
fail to train their employees about what should be kept secret and what should be kept public. I
currently work as a Security Officer for Allied Universal, and it is extremely important for us to
keep certain information confidential from customers, management, and other Security
Officers. My research will focus on how to implement a training program for new employees
regarding what information should be kept confidential and what information should be
revealed.
Audience
Firstly, the audience for this memo is Professor Corey Hamilton. The Project Plan Memo
is aimed towards the instructor as it clearly states my problem and what exactly I will be
researching for this specific issue, furthermore, all this information will be included in my final
report which will be directly sent to my instructor. The primary audience will include all
supervisors at Allied Universal at Fairlane Town center Mall, such as the Assistant Director,
Sergeants, and Corporals. These individuals are considered decision makers at this current
branch of the organization. Another primary source is the Director of operations, he oversees
all operations at the current branch. Moreover, they oversee training for newly hired officers
and this includes training these individual on how to talk to customers, tenants, officers, and
management. The secondary audience for this report will be the officers in charge of training
the newly hired officers. They are in charge of making sure officers know what their day to day
objectives are and they are implementers of the current work policies.
Purpose
policy regarding confidentiality is the best decision an organization can take, however, its often
a step that is often overlooked. The main purpose of the issue is to inform employees and
about the organization. This is an important issue because many employees arent trained
properly and therefore, they pose a very big risk to the company without even realizing they
are a threat. An employee should be cautious enough not to disclose any information that the
organization considers sensitive, to a third party, unless the employee has discussed and taken
permission from their supervisor. Many people fail to follow that rule and I believe that it not
only puts the organization in danger, but it also puts other employees in danger. Moreover, the
issue regarding confidentiality can become serious when a client or customer file legal suits
against the organization if they feel that some secret information regarding them have been
