In the first week, a class profile will be created
to outline the diverse backgrounds in the
classroom.
By the third week, teaching resources and
worksheets that are sensitive and inclusive of
identified diverse background are sourced e.g.
Indigenous poetry for Indigenous students. A
Resource folder will provide evidence of
specific resources which cater for diverse
backgrounds and interests.
Throughout the placement, lesson plans
catering for diversity including strategies that
are used for different students and content
specific for these students
Ongoing participation in meetings and notes
from discussions that occur to inform teaching
strategies for diverse student backgrounds.
Copies of class assessment plan/schedule which
demonstrates a range of assessment strategies
with intended student achievement.
Annotated analysis of student assessment data
and plans to implement for future lessons to
ensure student learning is improved.
Analysis of a range of student work samples
that highlights the students strengths and
weaknesses and how to improve them through
a variety of teaching modifications
Ongoing personal reflections of intervention
techniques used for specific students in
response to student assessment data.
At the beginning of the first week, letters sent
home to inform parents of pre-service teaching
and goals.
Written communication between parents and

Become familiar with the diverse range of
cultural, religious and socioeconomic
backgrounds of the school. Research the
schools student profiles and the varying
percentages of different backgrounds.
At the beginning of placement, research
resources and examples of worksheets and
websites which could be used in teaching
these students.
Keep a portfolio which will be written in
everyday and will be used to collect
resources for teaching students with various
backgrounds.
Collaborate with supervising teacher to
cater for students with a variety of
backgrounds and build resources in each
lesson.
Prior to the first week, research the
different types of assessment and strategies
that could be used on this practicum in
regards to the assessment schedule
implemented.
During the first week, observe formative
assessment strategies used within the
classroom and review these for future
implementation.
Collaborative planning with supervising
teacher and faculty to implement
assessment strategies and interventions to
further enhance learning.
By the fourth week, demonstrate ability to
provide student feedback and improvement
of assessment through self-reflection and
continual improvement of strategies.
In the first week, write a formal written
letter to be sent out to the students
parents about my role in the classroom.
Consult with parents through written or
