Good Morning guys, my name is Akhmad Suryanto, and Today I will deliver to you my presentation

about HOW ELECTRICITY COMES TO OUR HOME. For more information you can see the pictuce
on screen. In this presentation, I will explain you there part of how electricity come to our homes :

1. Power Plant

2. Transmission

3. Distribution

But before going there, i will give you a little description about how electricity can come to our house
from how the electricity it self is generates in the power plant, until come to the consument that use
the electrisity it self.

First of all the electricital energy it self generates by a power plant, Electrical energy that generated
from the plant is usually 220 MW with a voltage of 20 kV. In this process, the voltage of the electrical
energy that generated in the generation process is increased using a Step Up Transformer. The voltage
is increased from 20 kV to 150 kV, 500 kV, 800 kV. The methode use to minimalize the energy and
voltage loses in the effect of the length of this transmission line. After passing through this
transmission line then go into step down transformer that will decrease the transmission voltage of
150 kV to 20 kV. Electrical energy whose voltage has been lowered to medium voltage is 20 kV is
also called medium voltage channel, then flowed customer 20 kV. Then the intermediate voltage is
decrease to a low voltage of 380/220 V with a step down transformer. After being downgraded to
380/220 V, then distributed to the general customers/consumers.

1. Power Plant

Power plants generate electricity from various resources such as water, wind, steam, heat etc. In each
plant there is a generator, where in the generator there is a mechanical electrical system that can
convert mechanical energy into electricity. The energy at the electrical output increases many times,
before being sent to a substation to raise the voltage using a step-up transformer. The goal is to avoid
loss of voltage when transformed. Power plants are part of the industry used to produce and generate
electrical energy.

For the example of power plant is Gas and steam power plant, Steam power plants use high-pressure
steam that is used to rotate turbines that are connected to the generator. Steam is produced in various
ways. Geothermal gets heat from Steam Flow from Earth, Coal Power plant uses burning coal inside
boiler to heat water to form steam heat, while Gas Power Plant uses gas burned in boiler to heat water
in boiler.

2. Transmission
TRANSMISSION The process of distributing electricity from the power station to the power
distribution channel so that it can be channeled to consumer electric users. Transmission means
delivery. The electrical energy of the step-up output transformer has increased multiply. Sending
electricity at distances hundreds of miles between cities, between provinces using steel cables and
electric towers

Transmission voltage has 3 categories:

A. Ultra High Voltage (UHV) has a transmission voltage range from 500 kV to 800 kV

B. Extra High Voltage (EHV) has a transmission voltage range from 200 kV to 500 kV.

C. High Voltage (HV) has a transmission voltage range from 30 kV to 150 kV.

The main components of the air transmission line, consisting of:

1. Transmission Tower or Transmission Pole, along with its foundation.

2. Isolator

3. Infrastructure Wire (conductor)

4. Grounding Cable

3. Distribution

Distribution system is part of the power system. This distribution system is useful for distributing
electric power from bulk power source to consumers. Distribution has the meaning of the word divide
and distribution of electrical energy that can enter the consumer, the distribution installation includes a
substation containing a down transformer that serves to distribute electricity so that it will be used by
consumers. After the transformer down the substation. Electrical energy supplied using medium-
voltage installations, including concrete pylons, intermediate transformers, panel dividers with voltage
is 20 KV - 150 KV voltage running on the primary side and out (output) on secondary Side with 220V
- 380V

After pass all of that process the electrical energy can be used by us. To supply any kind of the home
appliance that use electrical supply of power
