Dear Prof. Chayama

My name is dr. Akiko S. Tahir, I was graduated from Faculty of Medicine
Hasanuddin University, Makassar, Indonesia in November, 2013. I am very
interested in continuing education in gastroenterology at the Hiroshima
University under your supervision.

I was grow up with a father who has a highly motivated with a strong
passion in learning and becoming a medical expert in gastroenterology. He
was graduated from the First Internal Medicine at University of Hiroshima
in 1985. After coming back to Indonesia, he became the Head of Endoscopy
at Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Hasanuddin University,
Makassar, Indonesia. His passion and commitment sparked my interested to
continue to study also in Gastroenterology. Hence, I am reaching out to you
after reading your works in endoscopy and gastroenterology field.

My lecturer, Prof. Tanra who was the first alumni of Hiroshima University
in my university, suggested me to pursue higher education in Hiroshima
University since so many doctors from Makassar had been graduated from
Hiroshima University. Beside that Hiroshima University offers the kind of
collaboration experiences that suit my personal needs and professional
goals. Moreover, studying in Japan would provide me the opportunity to
immerse in different cultures and learn new things.

To know more about me, enclosed please find my short biography (CV). If
you are willing to accept me, I may be able to apply scholarship from
Indonesia Government called LPDP Funding Program.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my letter in between your
busy schedule. I am looking forward to hearing from you in your convenient
time.

Best Regards,

Akiko S. Tahir, MD
