Army Veteran Max Rose Announces Campaign Team

(Staten Island) Today, Max Rose, a Democratic candidate in NY-11, formally announced his
initial campaign team.
Im humbled by the excitement and energy our campaign has generated already in such a short
time, but now we have to turn that energy into action. said Rose. When I began putting
together my team, I made it clear that experience alone was not enough. Anyone on the
campaign needed to believe that we should fight to earn the support of every voter and take
nothing for granted. The team I am announcing today reflects that principle. Above all though,
this will be a campaign led, fought, and won locally and I am excited to hit the ground running.

The Strategy Group

Peter Giangreco
In the definitive book on Barack Obamas successful 2004 U.S. Senate race, author David
Mendell of the Chicago Tribune called Pete one of the leading political mail experts in the
country.
Pete has pioneered targeting and research techniques that have made his direct mail some of the
most effective in the country.
In 2012, Pete was lead creative on direct mail that swept the presidential Pollie awards for
Obama for America 2012. Pete also helped devise the "He's just not for you anymore" campaign
that led Tammy Baldwin to an upset victory in Wisconsin's U.S. Senate race over four-time
Governor Tommy Thompson and played key roles in wins for members of Congress Tammy
Duckworth and Bill Foster. The 2012 wins came off Pete's leading role in helping Rahm
Emanuel win a first ballot victory in the 2011 Chicago mayoral race.
In 2010, Pete was part of the team that helped use women's health issues to propel appointed
U.S. Senator Michael Bennet to an improbable victory in the Colorado senate race when other
incumbents went down to defeat.
In 2009, Pete led the strategic team that helped Congressman Mike Quigley win a major upset in
the special election to fill Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's seat.
In 2008, Pete served as lead direct mail consultant to Obama for President during the Democratic
primary season, and served as Deputy Director of Polling and Paid Media for OFA in the general
election. In that capacity, Pete helped create the first Internet testing of direct mail pieces
pioneered by the Obama campaign. Pete also authored the direct mail that helped Bill Foster win
former GOP House Speaker Denny Hasterts seat in the Western suburbs, the first Democrat
elected from that area since 1932.
In 2006, Pete created winning mail for the DCCC independent expenditure campaign, winning
five out of six top races defeating Curt Weldon (PA-07), Clay Shaw (FL-22), John Hostetler (IN-
08) and posting a huge upset win in the TX-22 special election in December over incumbent
Henry Bonilla. The mail in these winning campaigns used specific ethics attacks together with
issues like Social Security and ties to big oil to bring down Republicans in key swing districts.
Also in 2006, Pete helped Amy Klobuchar become the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate
from Minnesota, and played a central strategic role in helping Patrick Murphy, the first Iraq war
veteran in Congress, capture the hotly-contested Pennsylvania 8th Congressional District by just
1,500 votes.
